Remember when they went through the effort of inserting Gotenks into the Commeson arc? Toei wouldn't even let him put up a fight against base Commeson Vegeta. Much less, gasp, force him to transform into the first Super Saiyan form out of five.

Anyone who thinks Gohan or the Jobber Squad will get a decent showing is fooling themselves. I bet Boo doesn't even show up either. They'll find an excuse to exclude him like the Golden Freeza and U6 Budokai arcs.

I don't think Toriyama came up with that many characters so either this isn't the tournament or each team can have as many fighters as they want so some will be 5 or even less.

It is baffling in the openings/endings they continually include Yamcha with all the other fighters, but then when we get arcs he's not part of them. Why?

I want you to be wrong but I also have a feeling that you're probably right cause giving each of them equal screen time would take forever which is something Toriyama hasn't done in his new stories.

That's an interesting idea. The main bad guy could even go it alone or blow up the rest of his team and tank anyone that comes at him. Or maybe a squad of 2-3 that just don't think they need the back-up.

Sacrificing Goten and trunks to get everyone else? I'll take that any day of the week. Now they just need to hand out power ups like candy, so they can all do something(or at least Gohan, Piccolo, and the androids). Realistically, Goku and Vegeta carry everything, and the anime adds filler that makes the others seem cool, but upon further viewing you realize ultimately doesn't mean a damn thing. Calling it now. Gohan will get Mystic God, but it will magically disappear next arc, and he won't win a battle with it.

Or we just won't see most fighters aside from the ones that directly clash with the U7 team. If this is some kind of survival game like the name of the arc suggests, then it'd be easy to set up, with each team starting in separate locations, rather than everyone together. They'd only need to design the characters that the U7 team meets.

We could get a tag team battle between 2 villains and the 2 androids.

We could get a teacher and student (Zabuza and Haku) vs teacher and student(Piccolo and Gohan).

They'd only need to design the characters that the U7 team meets.

This is a good point but I'd like to see other fights as well.

I don't get it why there are people rooting for a character fail badly just to see his fanbase pissed, aren't we all Dragon Ball fans after all? I don't like Vegeta as the current second main character, that doesn't mean everytime he fails makes me satisfied and even more with people getting upset through this. Don't understand the feeling

Because there is hardly such a thing as good friendly fans. We all just want to see each other burn apparently. That should be the Dragon Ball fandom subtitle "We all hate each other".

I'm not go overboard with expectations, I mean, how many times has Super disappointed us? But every time I look at the new promo art of the next arc, Thin Lizzy's Boys Are Back In Town plays in my head.

It's funny to see their fans get upset over it but over time it hurts the story cause we're to the point where everything is being done by 2 characters.

i dunno when it comes to dragon ball as much as i like goku i don't want him and veggie doing all the work in the show like it was in the u6 arc i want all of the cast do something worthwhile instead of gawking like birds.

The best part of the Buu arc was those 2 working together cause that was the only time they did that and before the new stories that's all I wanted to see more of but now that we've gotten so much of it I want to see the others be important as well.

You must be quite a bore. All comedy is based on the suffering of one party or the other, usually the one telling the joke. It's a bit ridiculous to say that something like that constitutes being an asshole. It'd be different if I were the one starting something, but laughing at funny things does no harm.
