I'm not a fan of tournaments in Super, but forcing everyone to work as a team should be sorta interesting.

This tournament is bound to blow the previous one out of the water. They've likely learned from the shafting of characters, the increased human character count, bringing back 17 of all characters and having Gohan fight again...looks like a big change.

A friend mentioned to me that it kind of reminded him of the Hunger Games. It'll be interesting if they do it that route, but I doubt they'll do that. haha

Team battles in tournaments would be pretty awesome. Things have been really good with the animation, so hopefully the fights this time around will be more crazy.

All of this sounds great and perhaps a fresh take on the typical DB tournament. Hopefully they can pull it off.

Man, I want to get hype but seeing no Goten and Trunks (Kamesennin and Ten instead lol) feels kinda wrong.
So what if Goten is a mini Goku with no personality? Why not just give him some motivation and character development? Something simple like this should be suffice :

-Trunks got motivated to become strong thanks to his future self.
-Goten feels lonely because Trunks is sooo devoted to training, not to mention their gap become greater and fusion is no longer an option.
-Goten trains in his own way.

So simple isn't it!? But maybe yeah, Toriyama just doesn't care.

That being said, I really hype for the No.17! And who would've thought a female fighter will be relevant in Dragon Ball!? Please don't screw this Toriyama/Toei!

Agreed. I think Master Roshi is a great character but both Trunks and Goten could have been more useful. Imagine them fusing into Gotenks and dominating multiple fighters. That would be awesome!

I don't understand why people think this will be the final arc lol i mean why ??it makes no sense ..We have seen only Black Goku/Zamasu as villains and
Goku & Vegeta have still not surpassed Beerus so they are in the beginning

About being a tournament arc:

I don't want to be the same lame standard of the past tournament (arenas, ring out, etc.) I would like if was something similar to the Makai Tournament in YYH, different scenarios, a bunch of fighters, but now team battles, that would be quite exciting.

Gohan isn't a good fighter overall. He's like Freeza, a lot a raw power, but very little battle sense. There isn't one battle Gohan has won by outsmarting or out maneuvering his opponent. He wins purely on overwhelming his opponent with raw power. The one time he fought someone even to him was Dabura and he ran circles around Gohan. The human characters have shown far superior battle skills. They just like the raw power.

I agree with that, even though I like Gohan as a character I gotta admit that he's never displayed any skill or battle smart, rewatched his battle against Bootenks he was completely schooled

This looks really promising, but I just can't get so hype since I don't see Goten, Trunks, Yamcha, and/or Chiaotzu here. I mean, I figured with those characters appearing in Super's OP, I sort of figured it would all lead up to a story arc where even they'd be involved.

Assuming he'd be a main character because minor contribution during the Champa and clone vegeta arc was jumping the gun though.

But then again, knowing super, he might really become a main character
