Well, it's back up. Now it's at $40, though.Undercooked Sausage wrote:pricing mistake on bestbuy.com, you can get the damn thing for eight bucks right now.

It's Ridge Racer. RIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIGE RACER!MajinVejitaXV wrote:Well, I made a killing myself. I only ordered one (as not to be a prick), but while I was at Best Buy I also snagged a copy of Ridge Racer 7 for my PS3 that was priced at 50% by mistake. So...I got $100 of merchandise for $38

*ahem*
8 bucks is an amazing price. Even if you hate the set, you really should not give up an opportunity to buy it for 8 bucks. I mean, even Corey bought it! That's saying something.

YSE. Seriously, it was in the "opened items" stack (along with about 30 copies of "Happy Feet" for Gamecube), but it was factory sealed. The guy at the business desk looked at it with a sense of "damn, why didn't I see this?" and told me someone probably made a mistake. Good thing I didn't snag it a few weeks back for full price.fps_anth wrote:It's Ridge Racer. RIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIGE RACER!
Well, the opportunity is gone (they took down the online order yesterday and it went back up last night at full price), but I agree. If I could hire Daimao to translate my episodes personally, and give me timed scripts for $.23 an episode I would...but yeah, this works about as well. Too bad I lost all my other subtitle rips from way back, I'd have his subtitles for all of DBZ by now.8 bucks is an amazing price. You can call me Rick because I'm not actually Piccolo.
I missed out on all of the DB Movie fun, huh?
Point blank: it's gonna suck if you want it to. Personally, I'm seeing it as a comedy.

Yep. It happens when people update/upload details of products on well.. anything. They may have been going through a whole bunch of stuff that only sells for 8 bucks, or they themselves may be tired, and they simply make a mistake. People take advantage of that mistake and then everything is changed about. Some orders may or may not be honoured, depending.Mr.Piccolo wrote:Wait, what's $8.00?? You're sorry that I get to enjoy a kickass system, that tonight at midnight will be able to upscale my PSX and PS2 libraries to 1080p? And can play Blu-Ray movies that look drop dead gorgeous on my television?FDLink wrote:You own a PS3? . . . . I'm sorry.![]()

I just got the set :?...
Well, I just got the set in the mail and just got through the first filler-ific disc. After watching through the first "remastered" set, I think I'm noticing more of the "remastered" awkwardness. Mainly with the disgustingly bright white colors and outlines suddenly disappearing.
You'd think this would be consistent and would show up whenever characters with particularly light skin (usually Gohan and the doctors tending to Goku so far), but some shots with them actually look pretty good. How strange.
Also, the split screen moments are awkward, just like the last set. Split screens in the original 4:3 were awkward enough, but now they're just...

I also noticed how the booklet also has comes with a separate slip showing some random DVD releases of He-Man and Happy Tree Friends (among other things). You'd think the slip would at least include some future anime releases (I've yet to see any ads for the latest YYH re-releases).
I also noticed how the side image is a different shade of orange than the first set's. So much for consistency. The box itself is also not that durable. Taking the container in and out of the sleeve's already given the edges some slight dings. Ugh.
Consensus? It's basically more of the same (chilli peppers and all).

I'll probably be buying a fatpack to put the seperate seasons in. I just wish selmod would have a complete version of the Namek Saga cover. Oh well, he has a life too and this gives me an opportunity to get back into to working with photoshop after a several month long break from it. If it turns out nicely, I'll post it.
