DVD Guide Update

Post by Deus ex Machina » Thu Apr 22, 2004 11:24 pm

Just thought I'd give Mike and Julian the heads up, the DVD guide needs to be updated again. Specifically the release date of Cell Games - The Games Begin has been pushed back to June 28th. Also the cover for Cell Games - Surrender is different than that of its VHS counterpart.

Yeah, I went to the deeper info at Zstore today and there was the delay..... depressing.

Also, I cant believe they picked a Surrender cover that actually looks *worse* than the VHS one.

Yeah thats true, I'm sorta interested now in seeing the next few months release schedule.

I can't recall the last time they actually delayed a DBZ disc that was this close to release, I'm thinking they might be switching "old DBZ" over to the release schedule that Yu Yu Hakusho was on til recently, 2 discs every other month, which ultimately I guess would not have that much of an impact.

Then again it could just be that Vision Wise Inc. is legitimately over-extended with all the projects they are currently undertaking, and DBZ had to be put on the back burner.

Another update! The Zstore is now advertising "The Games Begin" DVD as arriving on May 11th (it's original date) instead. I think someone there is trying to mess with us.

At the rate that FUNimation is releasing the Cell Games, I think they are trying to have the DVD of Gohan transforming into SSJ2 to coincide with the release of "Bojack Unbound". Not a bad idea from a marketing stand point.

At the very least, I hope 'Awakening' is released BEFORE Movie 9. Otherwise, those not in the know will be mighty confused as to the events of Movie 9 with Gohan going Super Saiyan 2. 8)

Nothing will ever top his SS2 tranformation though.

 And the edit button has thus been used. I think that was one of my first posts, I don't even remember saying that message, I saw it when I clicked on 'my posted messages'.

Gomen! I'll be good from now on.

Was that when you were showing off how low your alcohol tolerance is? If so, you don't seem to remember much of anything that happened then.

I do have low alcohol tolerance... but I had a niece! Champagne is required!

Anyway, back to DVDs...

When will the GT movie be released? It's a funny movie and I figure that if it is released soon then a year after Cartoon Network will release it for the kiddies (unless they have reshedualed all programing by then and kill DBGT because the seiries is over.)

There is no DBGT movie. I'm assuming you're referring to the DBGT TV special, "Gokû Gaiden! Yûki no Akashi wa Sûshinchû" ("Goku Supplement! The Proof of his Courage is the Si Xing Qiu [Four-Star Ball]." I believe FUNimation said it would come out after all of the regular TV series had been released (and after that, the redub of DBZ TV seasons 1 & 2).

I doubt it. How many people do you think are watching DBZ purely from the DVDs? They'll either have seen fansubs, or Cartoon Network, but almost everyone buying that movie will know what's going on.
