Nope, sorry Coconut, that's not the one. Close, but not quite.

Man, I can't believe it's taking us 20 questions just to find this stupid song... we're already on page 2!
BGM forever! If only more people paid attention to it... well, I intend to change that.

That's the one! :D Thanks for posting that raz1337.

I'm going to check my vol. 6, track 21, and see if it's the one.

I don't think that track is released, its a little slower theme than the volume 6 track 2.

::sigh:: I went thru all of my US DBZ soundtracks last night and today (every single track), and I couldn't find the track I'm looking for. So, like Super 17 previously stated, that particular track was never released on CD by Faulconer. And it makes me sad.

Do you have every single CD? There's about 6.

EDIT: Sorry, there's 9. :)

Yes, I have all 9; all 6 volumes of the Best of DBZ, the Majin Buu saga, the Trunks Compendium and the Android 18 CD. That's all of them, correct?

Yeah... I'm afraid Faulconer thinks he's released them all (hence the 6th "Best of" CD being known as the "Lost Tracks"), but in all actuality, no sir. That's the trouble with a BGM score where the pieces mesh together instead of having their own separate cues. It makes it near impossible to keep track of which one is which, and where each begins.
I'm still pretty mad that "Vegeta - Super Saiyan" didn't have the full piano intro that plays in said scene.

Oh, interesting. I listened to the beginning of Vegeta Super Saiyan and it sounded very similar to the music from that scene. But, that music plays for a over a minute and a half in the dub. The actual track is 58 seconds.

It is the same song, it's just that the CD version doesn't have the intro on it.

Here's the answer. Coconut Milk is 100% right, that the only soundtrack release of that song is the partial version found in the Best of DBZ V. 6. The version from the Piccolo fusion episode is a slightly extended version of a song that was used during the Frieza saga, in the uncut-only "Gohan Attacks" episode. (I'm not sure if it's in the redub, though I would imagine it is). I remember this very clearly. The song that plays when Gohan kicks Frieza's ass just after he kills Krillin, which began while he screamed "You animal!" is a slight arrangement of the DragonBall Z theme. After it plays through, it pauses for a second, then continues. After this second section, the music in question in this thread plays. I don't believe that it was as long as the version from the Cell saga, but it was there nonetheless. I distinctly remember thinking that the track entitled "Gohan Fights Frieza" from the Best of DBZ V. 1 was this song. The song that it actually was (which I like better anyway) was first used in the Garlic Junior episodes, and was heard in full during the Cell Games.

In answer to your question, this song has never been released in full on any CD, and is unlikely to ever see a release in the future. For reference, check the DVD "Dragonball Z: Frieza - Transformation" to hear the first insance of the song.

Yup. The score in question wasn't released in full. I don't why though, as it's a very good track (one of Faulconer's best in my opinion). Maybe someone could somehow rip it from the FUNi DVD?
