Why do you dislike Tadayoshi Yamamuro?

So I've seen a lot of hate towards Yamamuro (and) his character designs before (trust me I've seen a LOT xD).

But is there any other reason to really hate Yamamuro to (this) extent other than just his character designs?

I don't hate him, but I dislike how far his grasp of facial designs has fallen in the years between Z and Super. His noses and the whites of character eyes along with chins and cheeks are all out of proportion compared to his older art.

actually that's untrue. He always gave the characters huge jaws and was awful at drawing faces from low angle shots; those low angle shots made the jaws even bigger. The large noses, the sloped foreheads, that's all him and has always been him. He just moved to a more "cute" style than what was previous. He always coloured with the plastic look in mind. I have a thread on here comparing Piccolo drawn by Maeda vs Yamamuro during the initial run, and everything Yamamuro does now was present then. The only difference is that others most likely corrected his frames which made them look different than to his present style. All the flaws that I and many others dislike were there in 1991.

Yamamuro though is a god awful director who forces his stylings on more talented people.

Hate is a strong word, I dislike him. He is a bad animator and with higher-ups favoring him he gets promoted to positions he doesn't deserve. After watching F, I know he is an amateur director and storyboard artist and if he wanted to be a director he should've done it a little earlier in his career. So, there's no hope in the directorial department too. He may know all the martial arts and what Dragon Ball fights are, but if he can't move the camera then that knowledge is useless. He also has a strong influence on those who are far better than him as mentioned before.

In short, he is hurting the creativity of the franchise I care about and is the prime reason the franchise has absolutely nothing to talk about in terms of good animation and direction.

If not for Tate, Shida and some of the few young talents who do some good work a few times, the franchise would already be dead. It is still almost dead.

LOL I totally disagree, I believe he receives too much hate for no reason(yes he was way better in the 90s). I can see why people hate Tate so much, but thats a whole different story.

Go to the animation thread you'll see a lot of hate on Tate, there are other forums as well with a lot of people that hates Tate's work, Youtube as well.

That mostly sums it up for me. His work isn't up to par with what it once was, and now the sub-par stuff is literally the design document for the show.

There was also that whole shakedown in that interview where Yamamuro explained the production pipeline issues with the show early on, and then proceeded to blame the fans for noticing when it so obviously fell apart.

It's not "hate". It's extreme displeasure bordering on contempt depending on how long I've been talking about it and how much I've been drinking with said folks.
