Crap, that pretty much rules out the possibility of having the songs dubbed in france, too, then :IKouga wrote:Japanese!sangofe wrote: In Italian or Japanese?

That's weird, with all these official dubbed opeings I thought every country would get it's own version of Chōzetsu ☆ Dynamic!

It's an historical choice in Italy, Dragon Ball Super is the first anime ever to be transmitted on Italia1 with his original japanese theme. Many fans have welcomed him with pleasure, as many cry Giorgio Vanni's themes.

It also increase overall hope for a more strict dub (in the official announcement, they call him BEERUS instead of the Xenoverse BILLS).
I learned english listening to songs. So I don't know anything about. The day you had to learn play piano by just listening .mp3, you'll understand.

Re: Dragon Ball Super air on Italy [UPDATE]
i think paolo torrisi is unbeatable.. his voice was the perfect mix between Nozawa and Schemmel
His voice could be extremly serious and adultish and two second later extremly childish.
And he knew how to scream, yeah he knew...

RIP Paolo Torrisi...
.. and good look to the promising Claudio Moneta..

It's truly a shame we won't get a dubbed song. We always had very good songs and an opening is supposed to be sang by people/kids, I can't see italian kids singing it in japanese...

Re: Dragon Ball Super air on Italy [UPDATE]
Some news.
Mediaset purchased the rights of only 27 episodes (BoG and RoF arcs).
Apparently, if the share was enough they could also purchase the other ones.
No opening... No full product... I'm getting a Gundam bad vibe here...

Maybe with enough fan demand they'll bring back Giorgio Vanni later on? I really hope so because all of his songs are so catchy, I find myself humming them and I don't even know Italian!ChronoTwigger wrote:Some news.

Also, what is your "Gundam situation" in Italy? Did they not do a good job with the franchise or something?

The first very early airing of Gundam was.. illegal XD.wjbraden wrote:Maybe with enough fan demand they'll bring back Giorgio Vanni later on? I really hope so because all of his songs are so catchy, I find myself humming them and I don't even know Italian!ChronoTwigger wrote:Some news.

Gundam Wings was somehow good.
So, after many many years, they purchased again the rights for a bunch of episodes of the classic serie, but with NO OPENING at all (figure out... a jingle with the episode title, that's all). The anime aired for a while, then stopped for a very bad share.
Openings are very traditional to us. The last Lupin the Third airing was criticized for the new opening by a talent show kid. Enough to start social media campaigns.

Re: Dragon Ball Super air on Italy [UPDATE]
The episode has aired.
It was so good to see all our characters back with their voices.
They made a tribute to our Goku at the beginning of the episode with the Kamehameha (onda energetica in italy) he fired against Kid Buu as a SS3.
I don't really like the new Goku but at least it's dubbed by a very expert dubber. It sounds too manly, in fact it's the same voice of Kakashi from Naruto. Beerus is Beerus. Is voice is awesome as well as Whis'
They also decided to keep our old dub terms (and I'm extremely happy of it): Kamehameha = Onda Energetica, Ox King = Giuma, so I think by consequence it will be as always with Krillin being Crili, Piccolo being Junior (makes sense as Piccolo means "little" in Italy, Yamcha = Yamco, Tenshinan = Tensing, Chaozu = Rif (yeah it's strange ahah)
I don't think there are other things to mention, as of now EP1 had all old voices except for Goku and *maybe* fused Kaioshin, I think he also changed voice but I'm not sure.

Piccolo is also known as Piccolo Junior or Majunia (Ma Junior) so I cant fault the Italian dubbing team for going there.
