Nah, that's definitely had Karasawa's hands all over it. The eyebrows and ears are about as Karasawa as you get.
I dunno man, the eyebrows look a lot like episode 53 http://imgur.com/a/eI0XQ
(I don't think that first shot is Lee Joo-Hyun, but I threw it in just in case)
The ear is the only thing that doesn't match Lee Joo-Hyun, outside of the shading being a more dramatic version of his episode 45 shading.
At most I think it's a light Karasawa correction of Lee Joo-Hyun, too much of it looks like him.

Oh, don't get me wrong, I'm sure it's a correction of his work, I just don't think it's raw. It has too many Karasawa traits in it, for me.
That seemed to be a common theme throughout, sadly. Seemed like Karasawa was constantly correcting iffy work. Probably explains his output.
Either way the fact that Karasawa didn't provide any animation for an action episode he supervised is very interesting and just adds to the pile of interesting decisions in these past few episodes that are hopefully due to a focus on the next arc.
This is the first time Karasawa didn't provide animation to one of his own episodes.
Also looking at animator's corner Karasawa randomly provided key animation for Puzzle and Dragons X in between episodes 61 and 66 of Super, that has to be a listing mistake on their part, right?

This episode had also some ssjblue shots that were probably ssj2 redraws from episode 5.
It's a great way to check who actually worked on it excluding Tate.

The only thing that's a bit strange about it being a correction of Lee Joo-Hyon's work by Karasawa is that Lee Joo-Hyon wasn't actually credited as a key animator, but just as an assistant animation supervisor. Could it be a correction of a correction, or could he have done uncredited key animation like Shimanuki presumably did?

I assume Shimanuki's stuff in this episode was just a small amount of uncredited corrections, similar to what he's done in the past, not any actual animation.

I assume the 2nd KAs cleaned up the KA's roughs, Joo-Hyon supervised that, then Karasawa finished up the final episode. Seems like Wanpack have a similar structure to better manage their staff lists, too.

Side-note, here's my highlight from the episode:
Will add that to the notable cuts section later. Need to run through things once more to see what else should go in. Probably the Vados character acting if it's not too bloated.
I just want to say.. i LOVED that background animation in the woods there for a few minutes! It had a special feeling to it! When Goku was trying to sense Hit and all.

I can't believe that clip is only 50 seconds. So much happens that it feels forever.

Disclaimer: I might get into a disagreement with you. Sometimes I might even get feisty about it. I'll never harbor negative feelings because of it though. I hope you feel the same way!
I made a bet with Alee9977 that Vegeta won't be beaten quickly by an opponent. If I lose, I switch my avatar to Vegeta getting beat by hit. If I win, he switches it to Vegeta holding Black by his hair. This will last a month.

Such a shame because everything else is pretty nice.
Agreed. I can see Tate's trying to employ his usual momentum based movement but it's not very successful in that short bit. There's no natural bounce to each move like normal, so it looks a bit snappy and weird. Not the best thing ever.
Oh well. At least the rest is decent enough, as you say.

Frankly reminds me of episode 5's scene of SS2 Goku trying to kick Beerus.
Not sure if this was Tate, but I'd much rather him do scenes like this, where he can retain his fluidity, but there are no close up shots that ruin the feel of the episode.

That's Higashide, with the Goku close-up at the beginning being a Tsuji correction.
Higashide likes to do fast paced twist and turn action. As for this episode, I thought this episode was decent, and provided acceptable action. It seems like they are more focused on the next arc, which is a good thing. With toei having 3 new series coming, I would much rather have the staff focus on major arc than these slice of life episodes.

I think Higashide can surpass every single animator in super, the man is full of talent, can make really nice and polished pieces in no time, interesting animation movements without sacrificing art detail and fit with every supervisor he's been working on.
Seriously underrated
The new PreCure series staff was revealed. Kaizawa Yukio who did some storyboards for Super and is best known for being director of Digimon Tamers will be the co-series director. There goes all my hopes for a Kaizawa episode in the Universe survival story arc.
The other staff also looks fresh and exciting. The Toei staff once again showing how much they love PreCure. It will air from 5th Feb. With 3 Toei shows, it will be interesting to see how much Super will be affected.

That would explain why he's been gone for so long. I don't really think Super will be effected since it was already running alongside a PreCure show. At most Super will lose a little staff and gain some to replace it I think as people shift around. I find it interesting that these past two episodes had a few people who've worked on Tiger Mask and Appli Monsters, hopefully that continues into the new arc. Chances of that are probably a lot higher if Morio has been focused on the new arc and didn't leave for Saint Seiya.
