Can you imagine how pissed Gohan & Goku will be if universum 7 gets destroyed??? Or a god kills his own team because they lost??
There are many possibilities to start a war so i believe it will happen somehow....

The war arc should come after the tournament in a future arc as then we would know the characters of the other universes already.
