DBZ fighting, making up stories.

Post by Godo » Wed May 30, 2007 6:39 am

As we all know, in the latest generation of DBZ games you can play almost all of the major characters. Most often, you can use as an example Krillin to defeat SSJ2 Vegeta, who in the manga is a lot stronger.

Now, we all know that I'm not really mentally sane, but I have a question.
Do you use to make up stories when playing the Budokai games (as an example)?
Me and my brother use to choose characters to fight with, and make up a story about why they fight and why the weaker character is so strong (like he has the "mystic" transformation or something similar). Then we fight and during the fight we say things like "He got into a massive rage and fired a huge kamehameha!". I guess this is a kind of roleplay or something. But it makes the game a helluva lot funnier to play!
Like, for instance, Mr. Satan trains in the ROSAT, and then he challenges Krillin, and he is about as strong as him (post ROSAT), even though he can't manipulate his chi.
The large variety of characters in the games makes it possible to play around and making stories, so you never get bored.

Do you use to do this too?

I almost wrote "H€rcule"! Darn the dub! I have watched it too much.

Still do man, I recently played a What-If Majin Piccolo saga (Vegeta turns to stone instead of Piccolo, Piccolo goes Majin, SSJ2 Gohan vs Piccolo), and a Post Movie 11 Saga (Where Goku fights Broli in Other World), and more.

I might actually post a guide to them later, I really like playing them out.

I've been wondering, can you give the "Majin Seal" power-up to other characters that don't originally have Majin seals in the series? (BT2)

Yeah. The potara item for it can be equiped to anyone that's designated as evil. Though it makes no change to the character's appearance.

Yep. Sometimes I'll do my best to recreate fights from my Fanfics as best as possible. Or I'll come up with some odd idea that I'll play out in the matches. Like this morning when Kid Goku fell into a time warp and had to fight first a team of Vegeta, Freeza, Cell, Majin Vegeta, and Kid Buu and then Cooler, Broly, Bebi Vegeta, Super 17, and Syn Shenron to get back to his own time. :o

<Xyex> Original Freeza never sounded like a chick to me.
<Kaboom> Neither does Rita
<Xyex> Good point.

Wow, thought I was alone. Yeah, I do this too. But it's usually just made up in my head.

Nothing major, just like, for instance, I'll pick a really weak character against a team of five and just say he had a huge power-up or something, and he's showing off his skills.

Or, I'll do something that makes sense, like Goku vs. the entire Ginyu force in one fight.
I was Thanos before the MCU existed!

Are you kidding me? I alway do this when I think of something like it. For once, I made it that Kid Goku once met Kid Freeza and they had a good sparring match. After many years at Planet Namek, Freeza remembers and turn good after hearing Goku's word. Then King Kold and Cooler came and Freeza and Goku had to fight them!

Sometimes I'll make up a story when I hike up the game difficuly and have CPU vs. CPU tournaments where I randomly choose two characters to fight and the winner keeps fighting the next person on the character list until he loses or beats whoever is left.

Usually in those Frieza wins most of the matches until one little mistake is made and it gets interesting again.

We're not alone!

We all do this!

I'm in Poland now, but when I go home to Sweden, my Gamecube will stay on for days!

Too bad it only has Budokai 1 and 2.

**Only owns Budokai 2** :(

To taunt me, there are tons of Budokai 1 and 3 in the discount bins at the local Blockbuster store. Even a used copy of Sagas.... for the other consoles. :x

I do this to sometimes, but not often. Not much leeway thanks to DragonWorld's storymode (especially since it's almost always Goku + 1 other person). Lately I've been acting out a fanfic I wrote a while back using Trunks:

Trunks has just defeated Cell in his timeline and is about to go back to tell everyone. Only instead, the Time Machine travels to a Kaiosei type of planet, inhabited by the "Cho Kaioshin." It turns out that there are four cosmos (the four timelines): North (manga), East (Trunks'), South (Cell's), and West (Timeline 4). The Four Cosmos and the Kai planet are separated from each other by raw Chaos magic. The only four people in the multiverse to know of this and of the Cho Kaioshin were the Dai Kaioshin of each cosmos.

It turns out that each time a Time Machine is used, all it really does is puncture a hole in the Cosmos being exited and the Cosmos being entered. Since Trunks was about to make another hole in his and in the manga's Cosmos', the Cho Kaioshin intervened and drafts him to help out in the Western Cosmos, as their DBs are the only ones strong enough to close the holes in all the Cosmos'. However, the DBs in the Western Cosmos got spread across time thanks to the Chaos magic that leaked into it, which is why Trunks is there from the Raditz to Majin Buu saga. Once he collects the DBs, it's reached the part of the Buu saga where Buu has absorbed Gotenks, so Trunks stays to help.

It gets worse! To thank Trunks for all his work, the Cho Kaioshin rewards him with the ability to visit his friends on the Cho Kaioshin's world for a friendly budokai whenever he wants. (Hint hint wink wink play tournament mode as Trunks as soon you finish DragonWorld).

Just made a new storyline yesterday. Another Saiyan Saga Vegeta one as he is awesome.

Vegeta sick and tired of Freeza, decides to search for power to destroy the tyrant. When Nappa and Raditz heard that, they challenge the Prince but the both of them were easily defeated. Freeza hearing no respond from any of the three saiyans, thought that they were all dead. Vegeta now on his own searches for a way to be more powerful. Suddenly on a planet, he saw Cui! Fighting his rival, Vegeta killed Cui and was about to leave but he was stopped by Dodoria! In his weaken state, Vegeta was no match for Dodoria, Freeza found out that Vegeta was still alive, asked Dodoria to place him in a recovery machine.

Vegeta recovered and seeked revenge against Dodoria, killing the alien, Freeza felt Dodoria die, sent Zarbon to deal with it. Vegeta fought with Zarbon and defeated him but was left weaken. Unknown to him, Zarbon was still alive and had transform! Vegeta was going to go Oozaru but Zarbon had used an energy attack to destroy Vegeta's tail, without it, Zarbon thought that he won, but the Saiyan Prince's determination gave him the extra power to defeat Zarbon. Vegeta was very weak now and had to get away, finding a manual about how anyone could sense Powerlevels without a Scouter, Vegeta realised that he depended too much on his, so breaking his Scouter, Vegeta entered a spacepod and flew away on autopilot as the Saiyan Prince fell unconscious.

Vegeta in the spaceship encountered Dabura! Dabura tested the Prince and found that he had much potential. Dabura trained him and one day, Vegeta became a Super Saiyan! (I stopped up to here, continuing later.. But is basically about Vegeta becoming a Majin and unleashing Majin Buu and having a Space War with Freeza's family...)

That is a pretty cool side-story, Gohanku. I wonder what the Super Saiyan Vegeta in your next story is going to be like... :) I would love to hear more!
