The two Zen-oh thing looks like it's going to play out in the next arc that will be the first really big link between arcs, the Black arc did use the world building form the U6 arc plus brought back SSGSSKK so even then I wouldn't say the Black arc was completely self contained.

For sure, and Resurrection 'F' took Super Saiyan God and Beerus and Whis, but it feels like its own contained story with a big jump between the two films.

What I mean by 'no link' is that things just jump as soon as an arc ends. Trunks gets shipped off in this big emotional send-off and we're watching a silly Shenlong episode one episode later. There's no link or build-up to the next arc; things just happen.

It's a stark contrast to the way things linked in the original series. The motivation to go to Namek is spurred by the events of the Saiyan arc, for example. There's a natural progression there.

Super jumps around the way a series of movies would, rather than continuously flowing like a TV series should.

I don't necessarily think that these are movie stories as there is very little you can cut from the U6 arc and especially the Black arc into 90 min typical films there is way too much going on there but I now do get what you're saying in that the lack of connection.
From the start through the Freeza arc ending I thought everything connected well and this was missing between the U6 arc and Black arc,
I still think Toei missed a trick not doing a Trunks mini arc before the actual arc starts, in basically doing what Toyo did and elongate the flashback and this later down the road would fix a lot of the later problems too. It seems they're learning from this with the whole Hit thing especially the focus they gave on Goku avoiding Bulma and the whole training via Hit. They're reverting back to silliness but I do hope they go back to something like that in the last two episodes. I feel if they did something to forshadow Trunks new transformation and Spirit thing it wouldn't have been such an asspull. Oh well aslong as they're learning.

I agree with Ajay about Super's storytelling, it doesn't feel like one connected story like the original did and on top of that the stories themselves don't flow naturally.

A Super film would be as awful as the show with pacing all over the place and a convoluted ending that makes the entire arc seem pointless, i.e. the Future Trunks saga.

Really not having any is for the best. Who wants to be disappointed more than they already have been?

That's not true at all, at least in my opinion. Toei is just terrible with scheduling and the animation for weekly episodes would take a huuuuge drop.

I doubt we'll be getting any movies due to Super production schedule being cramped enough as it is currently.

I guess you could technically count the 12 minutes of Future Trunks footage in the the extended version of Resurrection 'F as a TV special though.
