That's not my problem with Kai. If it was done better, I wouldn't mind at all if people picked it. It has too many problems with it that hold it back from what it could have been. Like I said before, Kai is only liked this much because of the much improved English dub. We even have people voting for it because it has a better dub, English or not.

I picked Kai for two reasons, the dub being one of them. The other is the significant improvement in pacing. I still love DBZ, enough that parts of the series I have bought four times (Pioneer VHS, 'Ultimate Uncut', orange brick, and dragon box), but I just prefer the accessibility of Kai.

The newest results are in.

Dragon Ball vs. Dragon Ball Z Kai: The Final Chapters. DB got 15 and TFC got 4. Pretty obvious since the Buu arc of Kai is hated for he filler, cropping, and that freaking green tint.

Dragon Ball Z vs. Dragon Ball Kai. DBZ got 11 and Kai got 10. (So close but not close enough...) I was honestly really surprised at these numbers. I expected Kai to win. So close.


And now... for the moment you be all been wating for... the final round...

I like Z better but its pacing is a complete mess compared to Kai so I'm voting for DB as well.
July 9th 2018 will be remembered as the day Broly became canon.

I haven't seen Super, so my ranking is DB, DBZ Kai (dub), DBZ, DBGT.
Kai is only liked this much because of the much improved English dub.
Which is not a trivial issue. That combined with the much improved pacing are enough to push it above DBZ for me and apparently many others.

As much as I feel like I can justify to myself that DBZ should be the winner due to nostalgia reasons. I'll give my vote to the OG DragonBall for being more charming and having the better narrative.

My vote goes to Dragon Ball for overall better wrting, pacing and character design.
Dragon Ball was always a kid series and fans should stop being in denial.

I'm gonna have to vote for DBZ. Even though I kind of see both series as one thing like the manga. DB feels like it really becomes DBZ the moment Goku is no longer a kid and fights Piccolo.
