Re: Non-thread-worthy discussions
Not really a Dragon Ball comment, but for those of you that know Japanese what do you think is the best way for me to learn? I really only need to know who to read (articles/news), speaking and listening comes second. Shell out for a class at the local college? Online course?

I was watching LOTR recently and I came up with a little game, taking account all the DB characters, which of them would fit into the role of the Fellowship?
When someone tells you, "Don't present your opinion as fact," what they're actually saying is, "Don't present your opinion with any conviction. Because I don't like your opinion, and I want to be able to dismiss it as easily as possible." Don't fall for it.

Dragon Ball Super's Universe 6 Tournament arc is the first arc in Dragon Ball since the saiyan saga which hasn't ended up with the villain blowing up or attempting to blow up the planet their fighting on.

That's kind of arbitrary, but yeah. I mean, when your villains can blow up planets, there are only so many ways you can deal with them. The Monkey King wrote:Dragon Ball Super's Universe 6 Tournament arc is the first arc in Dragon Ball since the saiyan saga which hasn't ended up with the villain blowing up or attempting to blow up the planet their fighting on.

Vegeta DID attempt to blow up Earth with his Galick Gun, it just didn't happen at the very end of the arc. But Cell and Boo didn't attempt their planet busts at the very end either, so really the U6 Tournament is the first arc since the 23ed Budokai that didn't involve the villain blowing up or trying to blow up the planet. Basically you could say that it's the first arc that didn't involve a planet bust, since the characters could planet bust. The Monkey King wrote:Dragon Ball Super's Universe 6 Tournament arc is the first arc in Dragon Ball since the saiyan saga which hasn't ended up with the villain blowing up or attempting to blow up the planet their fighting on.

Pretty much what I thought. I'm taking Arabic courses at the moment, and its some damn hard work. I guess there really are no shortcuts though.Doctor. wrote:Always the best choice if you don't have the motivation to self-teach.PelicanDynasty wrote:Shell out for a class at the local college?

That's what Goku learned from Karin. Taking the hard route ends up being more rewarding than a shortcut in the end though.PelicanDynasty wrote:Pretty much what I thought. People might have discussed this before, but when Piccolo destroyed the moon in the Saiyan arc, I know it's a fantasy world but I could stop but imagining what could have been the effects in the planet by his acts in real world?

Learning from someone who is an expert or at the very least better than you is actually better or knows more than you. If it qualifies as a shortcut, it's a great one. That's what Goku learned from Karin. Taking the hard route ends up being more rewarding than a shortcut in the end though.

Do you want someone to tell you what will happen or do you already know?Noah wrote:People might have discussed this before, but when Piccolo destroyed the moon in the Saiyan arc, I know it's a fantasy world but I could stop but imagining what could have been the effects in the planet by his acts in real world?
Re: Non-thread-worthy discussions
Yeah what would affect the world by the time Piccolo destroyed and got restored by Kami after Namek (?)SaiyanGod117 wrote:Do you want someone to tell you what will happen or do you already know?

Well, thanks. I wonder how interesting would be if these climate change were actually presented in DB by the time and how civilians or other characters would react.TekTheNinja wrote:Well... http://lmgtfy.com/?q=what+would+happeni ... +destroyed

Re: Non-thread-worthy discussions
Was Goku written out of character when he was hesitant to fight Super Boo, despite always being thrilled to fight people stronger than himself both before and after said arc?
It's not too late. One day, it will be.

I think the distinction is that against say Vegeta or Freeza, he knew he had stuff like the Spirit Bomb and KK to bridge the gap. Against Super Boo he is 100% fucked no matter what outside of fusion.goku the krump dancer wrote:Was Goku written out of character when he was hesitant to fight Super Boo, despite always being thrilled to fight people stronger than himself both before and after said arc?

Re: Non-thread-worthy discussions
I think that was the point. You were as a reader supposed to be like, "Oh shit, even Goku's too afraid to fight him."goku the krump dancer wrote:Was Goku written out of character when he was hesitant to fight Super Boo, despite always being thrilled to fight people stronger than himself both before and after said arc?
Re: Non-thread-worthy discussions
It's called having common sense. Goku wouldn't fight someone he knows he has absolutely no chance against. That's literally just throwing his life away. He refused to fight semi perfect cell too. If he was literally the last line of defense and there was no other option then he would of course but he had Gohan and the Potara.
Also my own contribution to this thread: I have no clue as to why anyone still thinks Vegeta is a better fighter than Goku. Literally everyone including Vegeta has aknowledged Goku's better.

I made a bet with Alee9977 that Vegeta won't be beaten quickly by an opponent. If I lose, I switch my avatar to Vegeta getting beat by hit. If I win, he switches it to Vegeta holding Black by his hair. This will last a month.
Re: Non-thread-worthy discussions
I was pleasantly surprised to encounter "God Mission" (the theme song for Dragon Ball Heroes) in Drum Master for the Wii U. It's not the first time Dragon Ball vocals were featured in the video game series but it still caught me off guard.
