I was thinking about Resurrection F the entire time. Thanks!
His death against Goku was poetic and perfect, especially after such an epic hard fought battle. The only reason he was brought back was to job for Trunks which not only makes Frieza look like a joke but also devalues Goku's achievement on Namek. King Cold should have come to Earth alone.
I suppose that's a matter of preference then. I don't feel as if Freeza was a "joke" because he was killed by someone stronger. That's reflective of Freeza's role in Dragon Ball Z Movie 12, which was funny. Escalated progress is expected from an ongoing serial. Future Trunks' interference doesn't devalue anything in the past, I feel. I still conjure fond feelings over the closing moments of Goku & Freeza's bout. It's as legendary a performance now than it was before.

If anything, it wasn't regarded by anyone living due to Shen Long being the lone entity knowledgeable of its existence and Beerus' knowledge coming from Oracle Fish's predictions. With the latter, premonition doesn't particularly grant knowledge of the subject being observed.
Sounds like you didn't read Dragon Ball Minus. You're better off for it.

I've read Dragon Ball Minus since it was released. My mind defaulted to Freeza's scene in Resurrection F when I asked about his foreknowledge.
Nejishiki wrote:Freeza was aware of Super Saiyan God? I don't recall any moments where he suggested that idea. Do you mind guiding me towards the right direction?
He knows about according to Minus which means he knows Saiyan lore better than the crown Prince

I agree, I liked the big and wild hair that was drawn there.
Dragon Ball has always looked better with minimal line art and simplistic shading. Although for some reason, the series always leans the exact opposite way the longer it goes. Even in Toriyama's manga, even as he got really good at close-ups and action angles, his style as a whole decayed, including more and more lines. That was very apparent as the Boo Arc went on.
Trunks' spirit sword thing is worse than the Final Getsuga Tensho, at least that is half-assedly tied to Ichigo's established powers, Trunks' random ass power has no basis in ANYTHING he knows from before.
When someone tells you, "Don't present your opinion as fact," what they're actually saying is, "Don't present your opinion with any conviction. Because I don't like your opinion, and I want to be able to dismiss it as easily as possible." Don't fall for it.

Absolute Zamasu(my name for their fusion) wins. He fulfils his utopia and dwells in his loneliness(x amount of time for this to happen). He starts to doubt of his achievements, Goku's body influences him to seek out challenges but there's nothing. Perfection becomes a curse. Absolute Zamasu starts to dread his existence and presents himself to the Omni-King, detailing on his actions.
Using his powers the Omni-King restores everything to the moment before Goku and Vegeta perish, humanity's last barrier. Zamasu concedes. He ask for forgiveness(mainly to Goku, Gowasu and Trunks) and understands that his justice isn't justice at all. He asks for judgement and the Omni-King delivers.
Trunks is forced never to travel in time ever again, all the time-machines are destroyed.

While I don't know what you're comparing it to, I thought it was a pretty popular opinion that Trunks' spirit blade was out of nowhere and bad. Well, I don't like it either, at least.

I guess the un popular opinion is me disagreeing with the great deal of the fandom who think it isn't random and is totally okay as a story development.

It has a basis in slicing people in half, does that count?

I think the consensus is that the moment was pure nonsense, but the symbolism behind it, as well as how well animated it was, as well as Future Trunks being the one to deal the fatal strike and and as well as it just looking pretty cool was enough for people forgive the lack of any sense behind the scene.

I'm going to post an extremely unpopular opinion: Dragon Ball Minus is actually good, and this is coming off from a huge fan of Bardock's TV Special.
The only part of the special Minus contradicts is the fact Goku is there when he shouldn't. The rest can still fit and it makes more sense to know that Freezer called all the Saiyans to Planet Vegeta, as we know Saiyans were always away conquering planets for Freezer. Bardock also comments that it seems like Planet Vegeta is having a party, and when in the special Bardock tries to get his people to fight Freezer alongside him, the Saiyans are in fact all having what seems like a party (with alcohol too)
Basically, unless I'm forgetting something bigger, by removing all Goku parts of the special (except Bardock's inner dialogues with Goku when he dies) Minus and it can cohexist

What I consider canonical

People don't dislike Minus because it contradicts the special, that's the least of its problems. People dislike Minus because it's infinitely worse and just a generic backstory for a character who already had a pretty great one.

Then the same people should hate Toriyama/Toei for making Vegeta look like a total fool when around Beerus

Trunks's power up (SSR was it?) needs an explanation, but I think the sword makes perfect sense. The Spirit Bomb is basically ki, the blade is a Ki Blade, so Trunks just added the spirit bomb's ki into the blade, thus enhancing it.
When Super apparently shoves Goku down our throats:

HeroR wrote:The characters in Super can work with Goku and they're treated like equals to him. Goku just being in the room doesn't take away from the character. In Z, the characters were so depended on Goku that they couldn't go an episode without mentioning him in some way even by hoping he will arrived, get better, training to get stronger, our last hope, being like him, ect. Goku was wanked to hell in Z, even when he wasn't in the room and everyone else was secondary to him. In fact, this was a major issue Goku had, which is why he didn't want to do anything in the Buu Saga.
