Re: Super Animation Catalogue 2.0 - Episode 72
I wonder if we're going to see more of TAP's talent in the next arc, I hope so.
Re: Super Animation Catalogue 2.0 - Episode 72
They'res blood in the flashback from when Gohan beat up the robbers. Hope this really does mean that we'll be seeing it more.

I made a bet with Alee9977 that Vegeta won't be beaten quickly by an opponent. If I lose, I switch my avatar to Vegeta getting beat by hit. If I win, he switches it to Vegeta holding Black by his hair. This will last a month.
Re: Super Animation Catalogue 2.0 - Episode 72
The ED "animation" really dissapointed me, the ep was ok, I was expecting that but I wasn't expecting something like that in the new ending...
Re: Super Animation Catalogue 2.0 - Episode 72
The art wasn't even very well drawn either. It doesn't look like Tsuji or Yamamuro to me so I have no clue who supervised it either. I'm surprised they didn't lift frames straight from Toyotaro if that was the theme they wanted.Alee9977 wrote:The ED "animation" really dissapointed me, the ep was ok, I was expecting that but I wasn't expecting something like that in the new ending...
Concerning that actual episode itself, I thought it was fine. I enjoyed the plot a good bit and the animation wasn't offensive or particularly notable. Fairly standard for a filler episode with a few scenes of good linework.
Re: Super Animation Catalogue 2.0 - Episode 72
I'm surprised you guys don't like the ending. I personally love it. I think it's way better than the other animated still that you all praised before.

I liked the episode, everything was ok, nothing impressive and nothing bad. I suppose that the fight between Gohan and the thief was made by Inaba Jin. It was a waste that they use a animator like him in these kind of episodes.

Re: Super Animation Catalogue 2.0 - Episode 72
This episode was just OK,both in terms of story and animation. I love the new ending song but I'm not very impressed with the visuals since it's just a slideshow .I seriously hope that's not the case with the new opening song too,no slideshow please give us some good animation at least for the op.
Feel free to correct me if I say something wrong.
Re: Super Animation Catalogue 2.0 - Episode 72
Knowing how stretched thin Super's staff is, they probably don't have enough key animators to not use their talented staff on filler episodes.Alee9977 wrote:The ending was all Takeo Ide.MrWalnut4 wrote:The art wasn't even very well drawn either. Re: Super Animation Catalogue 2.0 - Episode 72
Something I have wanted to know for a while, but how is it possible that TAP (Toei Animation Philippines) has worked on animes like Shingeki No Kyojin, Pokemon, Re: Zero, Magi and a lot of animes that aren't from Toei. I mean, this studio is part of Toei am I right? I have never seen Dragon Ball being animated by Madhouse or Studio Pierrot or something like that.
Or is it that TAP is a completely different studio that helps differents studios (to earn money and keep the studio running) but they give major priority to Toei's series? It's something I never really understood...

Re: Super Animation Catalogue 2.0 - Episode 72
This is simply conjecture, but I would assume that they are an exclusive extension of Toei. I would assume it would be similar to how multinational corporations create branches in other countries. They are simply an extension of the original company into another country. As such they would only work on Toei projects. If anyone has any more information be free to correct me but this is how it appears to be.Alee9977 wrote:Something I have wanted to know for a while, but how is it possible that TAP (Toei Animation Philippines) has worked on animes like Shingeki No Kyojin, Pokemon, Re: Zero, Magi and a lot of animes that aren't from Toei. Well that's what I thought, but TAP has worked on a lot of animes that were animated by different studios (like I said before, they worked on SnK, Pokemon, Fairy Tail, Re: Zero, HunterxHunter and a lot of other series), so that's why I wonder how they can work on other projects that aren't from Toei?MrWalnut4 wrote:This is simply conjecture, but I would assume that they are an exclusive extension of Toei. Re: Super Animation Catalogue 2.0 - Episode 72
I should probably amend that by saying that I think they would prioritize Toei projects before others rather than being exclusive. It wouldn't surprise me if they worked on other anime when there was down time from Toei projects. Similar to how Studio Live and Studio Cockpit took up contracts for Dragon Ball Z I would suppose. Utilizing the animators you have even when there aren't any projects to currently work on makes sense from a profit stand point.Alee9977 wrote:Well that's what I thought, but TAP has worked on a lot of animes that were animated by different studios (like I said before, they worked on SnK, Pokemon, Fairy Tail, Re: Zero, HunterxHunter and a lot of other series), so that's why I wonder how they can work on other projects that aren't from Toei?MrWalnut4 wrote:This is simply conjecture, but I would assume that they are an exclusive extension of Toei. Wow, the art on this episode was bad and I expect more of the new ending than just a couple of lousy drawings

How was the art bad? It had wonky moments here and there but it was pretty consistently on-model.Noah wrote:Wow, the art on this episode was bad and I expect more of the new ending than just a couple of lousy drawings

Re: Super Animation Catalogue 2.0 - Episode 72
The new ED was directed by Ishitani Megumi who also did Yoka Yoka Dance. She confirmed it on Twitter. Surprisingly, it was dull. She is a talented director and while I hated the vocals in Yoka Yoka, I thought her direction was quite good.
The current ED had good vocals, but everything else was atrocious. There was no animation. Still, I hope Ishitani becomes an episode director in Super soon. She is a fine talent.

The art in this episode was fine, especially considering the small staff.
I don't mind the new ending, but it is a bit plain.

Couldn't the same be said about Yoka, Yoka dances ending? They're both pretty much huge stills.Saikyo no Senshi wrote:The new ED was directed by Ishitani Megumi who also did Yoka Yoka Dance. Re: Super Animation Catalogue 2.0 - Episode 72
Yoka Yoka is the only ED I thought I don't know how to explain, but I felt was serviceable. There was no animation I agree, but I liked the tricks used. The frequent color changes, for example while nothing special was ok.kinisking wrote: Couldn't the same be said about Yoka, Yoka dances ending? They're both pretty much huge stills.
Explaining directing terms is difficult and I'm still learning. This new ED had horrible Ide stills and neither did Ishitani do anything to make it serviceable.
All of Super EDs have been pretty crap so far, so I'm definitely not surprised.

Re: Super Animation Catalogue 2.0 - Episode 72
The episode was OK. Nothing great but nothing bad at all. Very conservative as expected. But I am happy that the episode turned out fine despite such a short staff. NEP looked really nice. Noel Ano-nuevo showed up on this episode. Really don't know much about this guy and I didn't knew that he worked on the series before. I did heard that TAP had some very talented animators, hope he is one of them and becomes a regular on the series. I would definitely like to learn more about this guy.
The ED song is really nice, but was disappointed by the animation in that. It did feel rushed tbh, because Yoka Yoka Dance's ED was really good. I mean the animation in that wasn't nothing noteworthy but despite of that it was very interesting to look at. I know that many of the songs in anime OP's and ED's are mainly used for promotion. Was that the case for this one and they were notified about it at the very end ? Who knows.
Edit: Next Episode is probably Wanpack. No wonder it looked so polished.

I don't think that was the case at all. It was a very short conservative fight and I don't think it would affect Inaba's next episode(in the next arc most probably) much.Alee9977 wrote: I suppose that the fight between Gohan and the thief was made by Inaba Jin. Re: Super Animation Catalogue 2.0 - Episode 72
Damn that episode looked beautiful.
No off model and an interesting storyboard.
Plus the story was good.
For filler I am pretty much satisfied
Heck I feel that this one and the Hit 2 episodes could be considered non filler
The ending I have to agree was awful. No animation, boring song and weird off model panels. Yoka yoka dance was OK due to the song been super energetic. This one is boring....
