It really does look like they did away with the green tint. Whether it was only for broadcast purposes or if they intend give the series the same treatment for the home release is still in question (and that's if they even see it through its entirety.)

Gotta say: I was SO SO SO relieved to hear that Funimation actually made the high-schoolers sound like normal high-schoolers instead of making the guy with glasses sound like an over-exaggerated nerd. Also, giving the coach an accent is an interesting choice considering there was really no need to (since they didn't originally do it with Z), but I appreciate the attempt to add a diverse feel to Dragon Ball so I'm not complaining about it too much.

Man, all I need now are the actual Blu-ray releases of Kai (and Super) so I can watch it on my own time and not have it conflict with my work schedule. Also, watching Kai on Toonami brought back fond memories of when I used to watch it on Nicktoons in high school.

"Fight it out" sounded absolutely dreadful, but I think that's just me having a soft spot for “Kuu-Zen-Zetsu-Go”.

Voices sounded fine. Haven't watched an English dub of anything DB since Battle of Gods in theaters and the first episode of Kai years ago. I'll tune in and keep it in the background on occasion.

I'll go ahead and link it again because it wound up the last on the old page but from this (https://twitter.com/Clarknova1/status/8 ... 8555051008) It looks like it was Funimation's change, not Toonami's
Which hopefully means they'll use this for home release
I cant imagine they'd fix something like this and only use it for the TV broadcast

Adult Swim version actually looks more green. I didn't think it looked all that bad, but I went in expecting a lot of green, so I might have just been overestimating it.

The Sky in the US version definitely has more green, but Gohan and Videl's skin has more red

I think they definitely did something to the footage and it does look better for it

Yeah I didn't notice a green tint either. Could it really be that Funimation removed it? Or is the tint just not as bad as we thought it would be?

They definitely did adjust from the Japanese version. I don't think it looks bad.
Overall, I thought the dub was pretty good. Just the excuse I needed to watch this arc again.

Well, here are my two take-aways from those pics:

1) I haven't watched the fansubs for the Buu arc of Kai, but I vaguely recall somebody mentioning that there was one fansub team who took the liberty of doing a small bit of color-correcting. Maybe the pic above is from that fansub team. Maybe not, I dunno, just throwing a hunch out there. *shrug*

2) The fact that so many people are even questioning whether it's there or not says to me something that I've felt for a while: some things are just more apparent in high-res still shots on a computer than they are with a casual, in-motion viewing on TV. So, whether the green tint is there, not there, or there but reduced, it wasn't strong enough to detract from my viewing experience tonight.

Lucked out and found a screengrab of the exact same scene, and the colors are actually pretty much 1:1 to the japanese broadcast of this particular episode

That means that the green tint is still to come because I've definitely noticed it in clips I've seen of the Japanese version of later episodes. Maybe Toei manually corrected the first episode to look good, and then just mistakenly used the same settings for every episode?

Looks the same as the funimation dub to me. Weird, I thought it looked better.

I know for sure it's in the French dub, but I don't see why it wouldn't be in all of the international versions. Only one different should be the Japanese version.

Indeed it was. I've seen that recap in French and in Japanese (presumably from the French DVDs) on Youtube.
