Re: "Dragon Ball Super" Official Announcement & Discussion Thread
I'm wondering why all the fighters have to be living on Earth? Aren't there other fighters in U7 stronger than the humans?
Pretty sure there are warrior type Namekians on Namek stronger than Roshi, as Nail had a battle power of 42 000.
But I guess they want to appeal the fans and have characters we already know and are already established participate. But from an in-universe perspective, it doesn't make much sense.

You assume that they know anybody powerful who would help, plus we don't know if Beerus or WHis know about the 'Losing Universe dies' consequence yet; so they don't have much reason to expand the already resourceful pool of Earth.omaro34 wrote:I'm wondering why all the fighters have to be living on Earth? Re: "Dragon Ball Super" Official Announcement & Discussion Thread
I feel like Kuririn has enough valid points to be the strongest, he's had his "potential" awakened by the Grand Elder on Namek etc... I remember Tenshinhan being trained by Kaio but as Piccolo stated during the fight with Freeza, Kaio didn't teach them everything that he did Goku. Kaioken, Spirit Bomb, etc for example. Kuririn was fighting while Tenshinhan was dead, and we're talking about Freeza's henchmen and Freeza himself. Also If I remember right we always see Tenshinhan training with Yamcha which isn't going to get him far. After RoF I wouldn't be surprised that Kuririn didn't flat out start training every day, but kept his self in shape and his senses sharp unlike Gohan. Some people are just more genetically superior than others too and I do find it a bit strange but it's not like it's flat out crap or an asspull like a lot of the stuff in Super. I can accept it because it's very possible training or not, perhaps Tenshinhan reached his limits training with Yamcha or by himself in the mountains. We all know Goku only got so far under Roshi and fighting with Kuririn and the rest of the cast in early Dragon Ball, at that point he started training under Kami and other wordly beings just to defeat a mortal alien and sometimes even that wasn't enough.

I see. I'm glad Monaka appears to not be returning, hopefully it stays that way. I wonder if this concept of "losing universe dies" was established by the Omni-King himself, because if that ends up happening then Zeno is pretty damn evil.Kanassa wrote:You assume that they know anybody powerful who would help, plus we don't know if Beerus or WHis know about the 'Losing Universe dies' consequence yet; so they don't have much reason to expand the already resourceful pool of Earth.omaro34 wrote:I'm wondering why all the fighters have to be living on Earth? This magazine didn't tell us something we didn't know other than Goku training with Krillin. Hopefully we get new info soon, as Feb 5 is now less than a month away.

Because apparently Krillin is overpowered af. For all we know he's ssg tier at this point because fuck logic.SansrivaaL wrote:Why is Goku training with Krillin and not with Whis? Beerus even told Whis to train Goku, I wonder whats going on.

I made a bet with Alee9977 that Vegeta won't be beaten quickly by an opponent. If I lose, I switch my avatar to Vegeta getting beat by hit. If I win, he switches it to Vegeta holding Black by his hair. This will last a month.
Re: "Dragon Ball Super" Official Announcement & Discussion Thread
I cant help but feel like others, that Krillin having his potential unlocked is what put him ahead, in early Dragonball during the tournaments Tien was stronger than Krillin as the official power levels state, the same was true in the Saiyan Saga before and after Kami and Mr. Popo's training. Then the Frieza Saga happened where Krillin got a nice magical boost which probably continues to affect his body. I mean c'mon do people seriously think that if Tien got his potential unlocked that Krillin will still be ahead, according the old Legend of the Super Saiyan RPG game where if Tien is still alive and makes it to Namek he wouldn't.

Re: "Dragon Ball Super" Official Announcement & Discussion Thread
I'm not usually one for strength debates...but it's obvious Tenshinhan is stronger than Kuririn. In almost every arc, he jumps in and impresses everyone with what he's achieved through his own training. We see this when he attacks Nappa, when he pins down Cell, and when he deflects a blast from Boo. It's pretty much part of the formula at this point. It shows that while Tenshinhan cannot keep up with the Saiyans, his stubborn martial artist attitude does pay off in some ways. The last impressive display that Kuririn showed against an strong opponent was when he fought Ma Junior at the 23rd Tenka'ichi Budokai, or when he cut Nappa's cheek.
There are three reasons I can think of as to why Kuririn has been described as the strongest earthling here (and beyond). First, for this specific promo, Tenshinhan is grouped in with Goku's past enemies/rivals. Second...Tenshinhan isn't considered totally human, as stated in the Daizenshuu. Third, this line has been used in the series, by Toriyama in interviews, and in promotional material in the context of consoling Kuririn for falling so far behind Goku.

I think a big reason they can't accept Krillin is stronger is because they are under the assumption that because saiyans like Goku and Gohan were able to increase their power so much by training, that Tien should be somewhat comparable. Their main argument is that "Tien trains constantly" (with Chaotzu mind you) so he should be above Krillin easily!! Well no...not the case. Tien is an Earthling, him training "constantly" with someone like Chaotzu or alone will not increase his power a lot. It'll be a very minimal boost even if it's years of training. Tien is not a Saiyan and isn't going to get those huge boosts you see Goku getting. Even Krillin who we can argue spars/trains with 18 from time to time probably isn't getting huge boosts but since he had his potential unlocked by Guru already on Namek he simply surpassed the threshold needed to be the strongest Earthling. Tien training with Chaotzu will certainly keep his fighting shape toned and ready but simply not enough to surpass the power Krillin has obtained.
Note, if Tien was the one who got his potential unlocked He would be the one ahead and like the current situation, if Krillin had "trained constantly" he still wouldn't surpass him if this was the case.
Re: "Dragon Ball Super" Official Announcement & Discussion Thread
I agree I feel like him training with Chaotzu isn't to get stronger but to keep himself in shape, I don't think he's showed any interest in trying to get stronger. Even Piccolo said he couldn't keep up with them anymore. If Kuririn ends up training with Goku it's probably Goku just being nice enough to get him ready.DainIronfoot wrote:Xeztin wrote:I feel like Kuririn has enough valid points to be the strongest, he's had his "potential" awakened by the Grand Elder on Namek etc... This magazine also says that this is the strongest team that u7 has to offer and we know that's incorrect so maybe tien still has some hope.

In the series, Kuririn being the strongest Earthling was played straight.

Krillin getting his potential unlocked was like doing steroids. No matter how much Tenshinan the natural trains, he won't ever reach him.

Maybe they are the strongest. Maybe Krillin, Tien and Roshi are now stronger than the Trunks and Goten becuase of training.kinisking wrote:This magazine also says that this is the strongest team that u7 has to offer and we know that's incorrect so maybe tien still has some hope.

Almost 0 percent chance although I don't know how I'd feel about that. I love all these characters besides for roshi but it'd be jarring to see such a big change in the rankings.namekiansaiyan wrote:Maybe they are the strongest. None of the other Namek fighters seemed anywhere as strong as Nail. And with Nail gone, I doubt any of them would be much use.omaro34 wrote: Pretty sure there are warrior type Namekians on Namek stronger than Roshi, as Nail had a battle power of 42 000.
But I guess they want to appeal the fans and have characters we already know and are already established participate. But from an in-universe perspective, it doesn't make much sense.

They should've included Gotenks in this because he is pretty tough when he's being serious. He's nothing but a joke in Super thus far, and shouldn't be treated as such. It would be nice if the series had it where Fusion Dance lasted longer or something. In DBZ, SSJ3 Gotenks almost beat Super Buu, but then his fusion wore off.

I love Gotenks but fusion is on it's way out. Even vegito was nerfed..DranzerX13 wrote:They should've included Gotenks in this because he is pretty tough when he's being serious. Re: "Dragon Ball Super" Official Announcement & Discussion Thread
It doesn't short of being consistent with Namek level Frieza being the strongest in the universe. That being said using Roshi makes it hard to not think it's to capitalize on nostalgia and familiar characters. Who knows, in universe you can just say Beerus is incompetent and lazy although I would think if Zeno is ordering the tournament Beerus wouldn't want to risk someone like Roshi embarrassing for being pitifully weak by comparison in front of Zeno. Who knows at this point.omaro34 wrote:I'm wondering why all the fighters have to be living on Earth? Aren't there other fighters in U7 stronger than the humans?
