Great episode everyone... like always... Congrats on reaching the "Magical" 80!!! Your show is officially Senile!!! Haha... Anyways...
I have heard Zenkai used before, but only on forums (The Pojo.com one mainly) and I have always wondered where it came from or if it had any root in the show... But now I know, so I can laugh at all the "Know-It-All-Dubbies" that Mike likes to always make fun of.
I can't wait until next week to hear the "Manga-Review-Of-Awesomeness". It has been my only exposure to the Manga, and I love it. Almost makes me wanna go out and buy them (at least if I wasn't so broke)...
Keep up the good work!!

This might have been answered to death, but...
I already know about the "story" about why Toriyama-san tacked on the Z at the end of the title when that anime started, but considering the discussion about the word ZENKAI, could it have been what the Z stood for in Dragonball Z? Or would it have made no sense at all?

Nice episode. I don't think I've ever heard ZENKAI used in that way, but when you started talking about it to refer to the near-death Saiya-jin power-up, a twinge of familiarity struck me for some reason.
BTW, Julian, at some points you sound like Stephen Hawking's voice box, and near the end you sound exactly like Devil/Kazuya Mishima in his Tekken 4 end cutscene.
Use this for referance, they really do sound exactly alike.

lol! I wasn't a dick, I just questioned his use of the word. Then corrected him.
The guy/gal/thing said that they'd heard in the dub so they started using it. :S
I don't think he fully believed me anyway, he refused to accept it wasn't in the dub, so I just left it lol. It became almost a "You're wrong." "No, you're wrong." Match of wits....
Meh

Strangely enough it is an accurate use of the Japanese. The kanji used to mean recovery are zenkai suru and the proof is here:
The kanji for zenkai
Yeah, so that means that it even works in the song Zenkai Pawa. So it could mean a surprise recovery after a near death experience. The kanji used in the rebuttal are wrong.

"Dragon Ball Zenkai!"
... Not bad. That should be a game title. In fact... *adds it to the list of possible titles for the never-to-be-finished-RPG-of-awesomeness*
Meh, the thing that confuses me about the zenkaisuru bit is... it's a -suru verb, but of the built-in variety... so can zenkai in the context of "recover completely" exist outside of verb form?
