Re: Goku having bumped his head limited his potential?
I'm sure Kid Goku was considerably stronger than Baby Goku because he had training from Grandpa Gohan and even that gave him superhuman strength.

Re: Goku having bumped his head limited his potential?
Thats the only road bump really, because in Z its said that it was because of the head trauma that Goku had a reset personality, but then he could very well have been wild out of just maladjustment to living with Gohan and his good-natured behavior came from being nursed back normal. (again head canon) With the amnesia applied. Because this is all a retcon, its hard to really say Goku was born pure hearted without stretching the circumstances of interference.emperior wrote:Based by Roshi's words, Goku was very wild before bumping his head, so by bumping his head not only did he lose his memory, he also became good-natured. We don't know if he would have killed Gohan or if he would have become good over time by staying with him. It could also be a sort of "lion pet" thing, where a lion raised by a human will become good only towards that human, and aggressive towards the others
Zephyr wrote:The fandom's collective fetishizing of "moments" is also ridiculous to me. No, not everyone needs a fucking "shine" moment. If that's all you want, then all you want is fanservice, rather than an actual coherent story. And of course those aren't mutually exclusive; you could have a coherent story with "shine" moments! But if a story is perfectly coherent (and I'm really not seeing any compelling arguments that this one is anything but, despite constantly recurring, really poorly reasoned, attempts to argue otherwise), and you're bemoaning the lack of "shine" moments as a reason for the story's poor quality, then you're letting your thirst for "shine" moments obfuscate your ability to detect basic storytelling when it's right in front of you.

No Goku bumping his head, made him exceed his potential, a million times over. Goku would never have gotten as strong as he did, if he was evil. The environment he was in wouldn't allow that

... And a SSG ritual where he held hands with his family for a few seconds. Although knowing goku, that was probably the first time he's done it haha.HeroR wrote:He got so far because he worked hard for his power. I think he was referencing how he kept stumbling on to some amazing teachers.
Also is it working hard if you enjoy training? I enjoy working out, so I never considered it working hard.
Disclaimer: I might get into a disagreement with you. Sometimes I might even get feisty about it. I'll never harbor negative feelings because of it though. I hope you feel the same way!Jinzoningen MULE wrote: Maybe I should start making it a point not to comment when I'm not sure of something. Too many people know what they're talking about around here.
I made a bet with Alee9977 that Vegeta won't be beaten quickly by an opponent. If I lose, I switch my avatar to Vegeta getting beat by hit. If I win, he switches it to Vegeta holding Black by his hair. This will last a month.

Goku was the best candidate for that Super Saiyan God power up.
He sought many of them out and he trained diligently. You can have the most amazing teachers in the world and it wouldn't make a bit of difference if you don't put in the effort.I think he was referencing how he kept stumbling on to some amazing teachers.
The two aren't mutually exclusive. You are doing your damnedest to hate on him for some odd reason. Also is it working hard if you enjoy training? I enjoy working out, so I never considered it working hard.

That's a lot of assumption. Being evil doesn't effect one's potential.Gog wrote:No Goku bumping his head, made him exceed his potential, a million times over. Goku would never have gotten as strong as he did, if he was evil. The environment he was in wouldn't allow that
Goku could have wiped out humanity under the right conditions. Just as Goku managed to become the strongest on Earth under the right conditions.

Re: Goku having bumped his head limited his potential?
No, I'm going to say it. The reasons why Goku became as strong as he did. Gohan. Roshi. Korin. Kami. Ultra divine water, have suddenly become locked off from him, now that he's evil. What are these right conditions? There aren't any.HeroR wrote:That's a lot of assumption.
