I thought so too, especially looking at the shot of Dabra and Babidi.

Chi Chi's a fuckton better here than in Super.
Goten's still a bit iffy, but it's more consistent than Super's dub. I approve.
Only dubs that matter are DB, Kai, & Super. Nothing else.

How cool would it be if they kept "henshin!" as part of the dub? Just something for us Toku fans to hear.

It seems like the west is offended by everything nowadays.

SJWs aren't going to buy any anime so I don't know why Funimation would care about what they think, if they find out about it they'll cry about it on social media for a few days before moving on to the next thing, maybe a comic or a video game.
I doubt Funimation want a repeat of Prison School's English Dub scandal. Using retard would make that happen.

They ended up going with the standard "Transform!" but put some reverb on it, so it's at least partially satisfying to me as a Toku fan.

Using any insult will make a hero look like an asshole if you over think it.

If he calls Buu stupid or a moron then you could say he's an asshole for comparing him to people who aren't as smart as everyone else.
July 9th 2018 will be remembered as the day Broly became canon.

Chi Chi sounded just like how she does in Super but a tiny bit younger, it's consistent but we haven't heard much of her in Super anyways

From the bits we heard from episode 1, I HOPE she doesn't keep going with that shrill shriek of a voice we heard. It was just bad.

I never noticed if it was part of the original dialogue, but he said he was going to make it to school in 20 minutes... Last episode he said he lived 600 miles away meaning he was flying 1200mph. That's nuts.

I don't remember who brought this up, but the Japanese KAI TFC opening doesn't have better animation than the International version. Just some rearranged scenes, or different shots, which they'll probably use for future episodes as the show progresses.

Ian Sinclair said on Twitter last night that the driver who Gohan stopped as Great Saiyaman was some of his first DBZ work meaning that this dub began recording in 2013 before he was cast as Whis. This really has been literally years in the making

Quick question. The scene with Bulma smoking, was it cut out in the Japanese TV broadcast of the episode?

Probably took so long to release since Toei didn't know what to do with Buu saga Kai at first and Toonami probably sign a TV deal to air every episode of Kai (including the Buu saga). It took Toonami two years to finish up the Cell saga.

When did Nicktoons lose (relinquish?) rights for Kai? Because if The Final Chapters started being recorded in 2013, they probably thought it would air on Nicktoons in the first half of 2014. But then, Toonami acquired the rights and I guess they wanted to air one episode a week starting from the beginning; that was probably what caused this massive delay. If Nicktoons had held on to Kai, I bet we would have seen this thing when the rest of the world did: in 2014.

And if FUNi initially thought this would be on Nicktoons, maybe there are even unused edited versions of the episodes in FUNimation's vaults.

It finished airing in 2013 on Nicktoons, and they aired GT after it until 2015, and it aired on Toonzai which later became Vortexx until the block ended on September 27th 2014 so Viacom (Nicktoons) and Saban (who bought the broadcast rights from 4Kids when they bought the Toonzai block from them and made it Vortexx) must have lost the rights in 2014 when Turner got them for Toonami

Three years in the making! Since Sean wrapped up early 2016 and said he was the last.

Well the dub didn't get finished until 2016, largely thanks to the movies remember some big VAs need to be flown out to dub the show so it was probably a releiving or potential concious decision for FUNi that Toonami aired Kai1.0 first.

Same for Goten so I don't think it's them being "rough" seems more like a conscious decision now.

That certainly would explain why Laura Bailey is still voicing Trunks, and why Colleen Clinkenbeard is still voicing #18. I do have to wonder why it took them so long to actually release it though.

Come to think of it, didn't Sean Schemmel announce on his Twitter that they were recording the Kai dub of the Boo saga back in 2013?
