Fanfiction - History of 'F' (completed)
Re: Fanfiction - History of 'F' (chapter 4)
Posted chapter 4. I think this is the best one yet. Hope you enjoy it, writing Freeza is always fun.
Chapter 5 will probably last some time before it comes out as I have an exam on the 19th. Don't expect much though, it's just a bonus chapter with a bit of world-building. The main Freeza family is done.

Oh. O-Oh my finally. Its Lord Freeza's turn. Besides my disappointment in that you chose to make the forms, suppression rather than augmentations (pet peeve of mine). But besides that o-o-oh my, probably the best chapter yet in my opinion, Freeza, was just delectably evil the whole way through, and a treat to read, as always.

You have no idea how refreshing it is to see Vegeta be portrayed as an unrelenting prick. Too many fics white wash him for my taste.
When someone tells you, "Don't present your opinion as fact," what they're actually saying is, "Don't present your opinion with any conviction. Because I don't like your opinion, and I want to be able to dismiss it as easily as possible." Don't fall for it.

I'm blaming that one both on Funimation's original dub and Toriyama's recent tendency to portray the Saiyans as less savage and evil than originally.ekrolo2 wrote:You have no idea how refreshing it is to see Vegeta be portrayed as an unrelenting prick. Too many fics white wash him for my taste.

Yeah it gets incredibly annoying. These were genocidal monsters, who only loved to eat, kill and eat. Potentially killing more than Freeza, himself.Doctor. wrote:I'm blaming that one both on Funimation's original dub and Toriyama's recent tendency to portray the Saiyans as less savage and evil than originally.ekrolo2 wrote:You have no idea how refreshing it is to see Vegeta be portrayed as an unrelenting prick. Re: Fanfiction - History of 'F' (completed)
Alright, posted chapter 5. It's over now. I'm sorry this one took so long, but I just got so busy with exams and such, and eventually the second semester of college started, so I've been out of time. I've also been terribly sleepy for seemingly no reason at all, so it seems I just had to force myself through this one. And it shows, I don't think it's the most interesting chapter yet nor the best-written one (verb tenses fucked me up real good on this one), but it's just a bonus one anyway, the main "story" was supposed to end on chapter 4, this was always meant to be a short little thing (mostly because I know I don't have the motivation to finish anything remotely long; so I'm actually proud of myself to write something like this and finish it).
No dialogue on this one. I tried to sprinkle some in but I just felt it looked too forced. I'm afraid this chapter will just seem like a boring infodump or a history lesson, but I feel like dialogue isn't necessary if the content is entertaining and interesting enough. And I hope it is. So, now that it's finished, would appreciate feedback on the entire work. I'll probably see you guys with some other short fanfiction I try to do.

Great chapter as usual. One minor nitpick. The Halians cannot survive without air. They can survive in space however. Another question is are the Halians asexual here? Because that wouldn't make any sense. And finally... Uh you still haven't managed to flesh out Hail as a world. But besides that it's good.

I don't think it's ever stated one way or another in the series if Freeza and his species can survive without oxygen, so I think there's a bit of leeway surrounding it where my interpretation works. I think I've already answered this one, they reproduce asexually yes. They normally look like second form Freeza or king Cold, with Freeza's family being the exceptions due to them being mutants. I know you're going to bring up the difference in appearance, that's explained due to the fact that the mutant gene Freeza's family in particular has manifests itself in different forms for everyone. Yeah, I didn't flesh out Hail as a world, but I think I did a good job of fleshing out the lore and giving focus to the characterization of Freeza's family, which was the focus.Gog wrote:Great chapter as usual. 'sigh' you managed to properly explain the difference's in appearance between them, rather well in fact. It's just... It feels so dirty for them to be asexual.Doctor. wrote:I don't think it's ever stated one way or another in the series if Freeza and his species can survive without oxygen, so I think there's a bit of leeway surrounding it where my interpretation works.
