They recorded the entirety of it in Japanese. It was only cut down to air it on Japanese TV. They only aired it on Japanese TV because they needed a replacement for Toriko because it was cancelled & they needed something to be in the timeslot. Why would you think that they wouldn't have audio for what was cut out in Japan for the Japanese audio?

He probably thought the shorter Japanese version was the only Japanese version that exists.

But you're right, this original version does have a complete Japanese dub.

EDIT: Somebody let me know when the pre-order for this goes up on Amazon. There are a lot of anime releases coming in the first half of this year that I'm already having a hard time keeping track of.

Maybe the reason they're calling these parts is because they're going to release a 2 season release next year, one with 34 episodes and the other with 35 episodes.

Guys, let's remember that GT was released in two seasons and then in a COMPLETE SERIES box. GT was 64 episodes while Kai TFC is 69. So, for all we know - The part releases with the season-long episode counts might basically be the SEASON releases. And then, after Kai TFC is finished - Funimation might just release it in a COMPLETE SERIES box. They're most likely doing this because they realize Super is the big thing now and they want to give fans season-long releases to build up hype for Kai more.

All I know is, I HAVE TO MAKE SURE I GET THESE PART RELEASES THIS TIME AROUND. I was a teenager in 2010 who didn't and couldn't keep up with the initial Kai releases because I lacked a job. But now, I have a job so I'm gonna get these part releases because one day - They may not be cheap anymore and become rare. That's usually the case with anime.

Also, I know I make western comparisons too much when it comes to Dragon Ball - But I think it was smart on Funi's part to display the cover art with Goku vs. Vegeta (despite the battle being the last episode of Part 1, I think). In the past year, superhero vs. superhero was a big thing so this is smart from a marketing point of view - especially since Goku and Vegeta's battles are iconic. CAN'T WAIT to see these episodes, especially since my work vacation is the week after this apparently releases so this makes it even more AWESOME!!!!

EDIT: I never noticed that Goku represents an angel (halo) and Vegeta represents a demon (majin mark) in their battle. Never noticed this until now, nice story touch.

I listed most of the episodes from the TFC cut from a weird website that had the French episodes WHILE the latter SSGSS Goku listed the extra international episodes. Hope it helps if it wasn't already cleared up on this thread.

They have gotten into the habit of rereleasing parts into bigger sets after the parts had been out for a while. DBZ Kai & One Piece have identical part/voyage & season/collection releases, pretty sure this trend STARTED with One Piece before they started the dub up again in 2012/2013, Fairy Tail gets collection releases, I own the complete Psycho-Pass season 1 set, & Attack On Titan season 1 got rereleased in full several months ago as well. Thing is, though, unless it's a 20-something to 60-something episode series, FUNimation doesn't do complete series sets, otherwise they would've for Yu Yu Hakusho, DBZ Kai pre-Final Chapters, Dragon Ball, DBZ, etc. They did 2-set compilation releases for DBZ when they still had the shitty orange bricks, but only at Walmart I think because that's the only place I saw them, then did a compilation of GT, which is the only complete series set that's over 26 episodes they've done except for the original Fullmetal Alchemist series, as far as I know.
I only own the complete Cowboy Bebop set they released because it was a rerelease. I wanna get Outlaw Star when they finally get around to it. Hell, I wouldn't be surprised if they rereleased Space Dandy in a complete series set down the road.

Here's the thing I've been wanting to bring up since this was confirmed to be airing. DBZ Kai: TFC has 69 episodes in all internationally. This first set is going to have 22 episodes. Doing the math, that's 47 left. If they do 22 more, that's 25 for the last set, depending on if they leave off on another cliffhanger, which is easy to do in a longrunning anime arc & that's what they're doing with the first set, it's part of the marketing. So, we're looking at 22-23 for the next one & the rest on the last. By the way, Part 1's coming April 25, WAY before they get to it on Toonami. Super might come in May, or June, & Part 2 might come in July, or August, if they're going on a 3/4 month basis for this, since Part 1's set is coming over 4 months after the Toonami reveal, though the season sets were weird in their release dates for the first 3/4 of Kai, so...who knows. I imagine they'll release 12-13 episode sets for Super, or possibly 14 when it gets to Resurrection F, then maybe season sets since it's a relatively new series & TFC is, well, not if you think about it, since it's a continuation of Kai.
