Movie 8 - Who were those guys?

After watching the DBZA version of the movie, I can't help wondering - exactly who were those guys Paragus was using to enslave the Shamoians? You know, the guys in the full body armor and masks?

They couldn't have been Saiyans since we only saw Paragus and Broly survive in the flashback. Were they slaves too? How much sense does it make to invade one planet, enslave its populace, and then use those slaves to oversee another group of slaves from another planet?

Was it ever explained exactly who these guys were?

Two of them are named Angol (left) and Moa (right). They are presumably of other races Paragus subjugated while doing the whole destruction thing for his plans.

If they were slaves too, why wouldn't they try to rebel and escape, instead of doing the jobs they were assigned? Paragus and Broly couldn't be everywhere at once and they had no one keeping them in line.

Hmm... seems like they're probably named after "Angolmois" which is apparently mentioned in Nostradamus' writings. Specifically, in connection with a great king coming from the sky to bring war... which sounds pretty Saiyan-like (or specifically, Broly-and-Paragus-like), appropriately enough. It seems like there's several anime that use Angolmois at the basis of character names, and the "mois" is usually written as "moa" in katakana -- probably a French silent-letter-S-on-the-end thing.

If they were slaves too, why wouldn't they try to rebel and escape, instead of doing the jobs they were assigned? Paragus and Broly couldn't be everywhere at once and they had no one keeping them in line.

The races can be subjugated without being outright slaves, somewhat akin to Freeza's relationship with his minions. Those two species could be useful for more than just grunt labor, and thus are treated better and have less not to behave loyally to Paraguay and Broli. Or maybe it is basically just like with Freeza, and everyone generally stays in line based purely on the overwhelming fear.

And that's asumming you see slavery as in modern days, as a state inmediately frowned upon and based on institutionalized racial discrimination or unlawful abductions. Many historical slave using societies integrates them perfecly and seamlessly into their functions, based on war conquering and economical obligations, without unrest or revolutions.To the point that many societies used slaves as soldiers, and although their morale wasn't the highest around, they didn't tend to mutiny or sublevation (cf. persian(s) empire). Is only when things went OTT (gladiatoral contests, selective racial inhumanization, etc) that disconfort and subsecuent upsrising happens.

This, even within the context of slavery that we are more accustom to there was a hierarchy. In fact many slaves were put against and used to oversee other slaves in exchange for higher ranking and luxuries.
Besides why would they risk going up against Broly?
