Vegeta's Death

Most of the time, Vegeta always wants to finish the last guy, don't you think he wanted to kill Janemba before Goku found out about him and take the kill.

Vejita dies fighting Buu. He goes to hell, but his spirit and body are kept by Enma in reserve, given the danger Buu represents. Vejita is brought back to earth to fight, as Enma gives him a chance to make up for "dying a dog's death" (going from memory). Vejita, furious at the statement, agrees though he tells Baba that nothing will be different this time.

Vejitto, blah blah blah...

Goku wants to go full power SSJ3, so Vejita stalls. This is especially a big deal because if a spirit is killed, they cease to exist. Meanwhile, the others gather the Namekian dragonballs and make wishes. One is to revive all the good people killed by Buu, thus Vejita's halo disappears and he is revived (unlike the wish right after his kamikaze, where he was left dead, meaning he redeemed himself).

Make sense? The movie only happens because Janemba messes up the laws of the afterlife, hence Vejita is able to escape from hell and be corporeal. That's why Vejita fades when Janemba is defeated and things return to normal.

Actually, he wasn't brought back with that wish because he was already revived once before by Shenlong. But yeah, even if he hadn't already been, his evil deeds at the tournament would've probably kept him from being revived anyhow. Bulma and the others seemed to have forgotten Vegeta's previous revival and Shenlong's rule when discussing if they'd bring him back with one of the wishes, maybe Toriyama started rubbing off on them?

Ah yeah, good point. I forgot about that, probably because they kept changing the rules with Shenlong later in the series ("1 wish! No, 2! No wait, 3!").

Heh, don't forget that they still thought Gohan was dead, even though their wish would have revived him had he been killed by Buu.

On the subject of Movie 12-- it would have been wonderful to have Vegeta, in the middle of fighting Janemba, say to Goku, "Hang on, there's something I need to do." He goes to Earth, kills Freeza, then comes back and rejoins the fight, smiling.

Vegeta didn't know that Freeza was roming around on Earth.

It's unclear whether or not Vegeta knew that Freeza and zombies were on Earth... since he didn't go out there, he might have no idea ... have had no idea where they went... or he may have somehow known by sticking his head through the portal or something... so I guess we'll assume he doesn't know until it is proven otherwise? (Well, he knew everyone left, but he didn't know where they went... am I close?)
