You think King Vegeta should have kept Broly around as his secret weapon?

If King Vegeta thought Broly was a threat to him and his people, why didn't he set him loose on Frieza's spaceship?

Yes, it was a very stupid move on his part but it turned out alright cause if Freeza knew about him he would've taken him before destroying their planet and use him as his weapon instead.
July 9th 2018 will be remembered as the day Broly became canon.

Let's be honest, in the end it didn't really matter if he kept Broly or not. I imagine in the main timeline he actually kept Broly as a secret weapon.

No. Saiyans don't give a shit about each other, so the moment Broly was old enough to realize how powerful he was he would have probably overthrown Vegeta. The guy was as powerful as the King as a baby, so by the time he was 10 he probably rivaled Freeza. There's no way Broly would accept his status as weapon for long and even if he was stupid enough to do, Paragus wouldn't still.

Would it change anything?
Baby Broly would still get killed by Freeza.

I guess it could be difficult to say. Broly seems to become mental unstable when his power rises though perhaps the source of this is King Vegeta stabbing him.

Only if he had a way to control him, like Paragus did.

No way. Broly was shown to be mentally unstable from day one. Having that kind of power on top of that would have lead to the Saiyan imploding on itself just tying to control Broly.

He was a several days old baby at the time.
Also, he doesn't exist

This sounds like a good idea but since Broly is impossible to control permanently he would have easily overpowered King Vegeta and gone on to rule the Saiyajins.
Of course, this would only happen in the unlikely event that Frieza doesn't blow up Planet Vegeta.
