Replica(?) Trunks Sword for Sale on True Swords site

Post by Magica » Wed Jun 06, 2007 9:10 pm

Thanks to TwinbeeMKII, I was provided with this link:

http://www.trueswords.com/closeout-sale ... -2971.html

CLOSEOUT SALE - Dragon Ball Z Trunk Anime Sword
[TS-DBZ1] Only $19.99

Image

Description

Inspired by the Dragon Ball Z manga series, this is a reproduction of Trunk's sword. 440 Stainless Steel blade, 42 inches long, includes black leather sheath with belt loop!

Reasons for closeout sale:

* The finish is not perfect on this sword. While overall it is good, there may be some weak spots on the sword.
* The blade is not perfectly centered to the handle.

Reasons to order:

* Still a fun product and the price is great.
* This is the only Trunk sword replica on the market.
* Local sword shops may offer this sword for $39.99 or more, however it is the exact same stock that we are offering here for $19.99.
* Good value for the cost.

In Stock?: YES

This item usually ships in 1 - 2 days.

I'm curious why the silver ring in the middle of the hilt is there though. Trunks's sword never had that.
Anyway, here's one with the sheath too, but it's a lot more expensive.

Is there a reason why the handle and sheath are black? :?

Well I think it's a modified sword. So that's why it's not *exactly* like Trunks.

What's the point in owning a sword that someone can stop with their index finger?

Oh yeah. Risk of death and high probability of breakage isn't that big of a con since it's only $20. :P

But... how can it be cheaper than the competitor's models if there are no models made by the competitors? :?

Maybe because it can cut Mecha Freeza into half and cut off Android 18's hair. :P

I think they mean that other places sell this sword for a higher price. Like that link I had:
http://www.kingofswords.com/product_inf ... s_id/12037
Same sword, different price.

As a person who loves blades and firearms, I'll tell you right now:

You're a damned fool if you buy this. It's, almost certainly, made of the cheapest metal available. It will corrode, it will fall apart, it may even hurt those who handle it. It will also look like crap. Why? It's a $20.00 sword :P

Well...it would look nice on my wall...? Not that I would buy it.
I think I'll be buying assorted Dragon Ball things for the rest of my life.

Emphasis added, and I say this all because I bought a cheap sword way back when I was 15 and I know how crappy they are.
