Now that you mention the over 100 new characters thing I understand why some of these designs look so lazy, it must be hard af to create so many new characters for one arc.
Gotta say, I hate each and everyone of those character designs, and that female saiyan turning into LSSJ Broly is the biggest slap in the face for Broly fans.
Ugh...

Yeah, I wouldn't be surprised if we get a crowd of unimportant fighters who are just blobs in the background.

Lord Beerus, I would think you of all people would be more opened minded since you were dead set against 'evil Goku' and now you adore Goku Black.
I am not happy about Broly either, mostly because of Broly fans then the actual character, but I am willing to see how this plays out before passing judgment. I was dead set against Vegetto and Toriyama made it worked for me by giving him a time limit, stopping the endless 'why don't they just fuse', making Vegetto struggled instead of it being a mud stomped, and giving the 'kill' to someone else.
I've already mentioned how I'll give this the benefit of the doubt and hope it will grow on me but I'm keeping my expectations low.

But the fact that there are still people reading the series after all this time… All I can say is; “thank you.” Really, that’s all.

And that you also have IMMENSELY skewed and comically backwards priorities in what you think is most important and needed to make a good Dragon Ball story.

I thought it was some sort of primate at first, but it is clearly a robot.

Why Dragon Ball Consistency in something such as power levels matter!

Doctor. wrote:I've explained before, I'll just paraphrase myself.
Power levels establish tension and drama. People who care about them (well, people who care about them in a narrative) don't care about the big numbers or the fancy explosions. If you have character A who's so much above character B, who's the main character, you're gonna be left wondering how in the hell character B, the character we're supposed to care and root for, is going to escape the situation or overcome the odds. It makes us emotionally invested.
If character B doesn't escape the situation in a believable way that's consistent with previous events, then that emotional investment is gone. It was pointless tension, pointless drama made just to suck in the viewer. It has no critical value whatsoever. The audience is left believing that the author can just create whatever scenarios he wants and what happens to the characters is decided by whatever the author wants to happen, regardless of the events that happened in the story. Which, in fairness, is what happens, but the audience wants to be fooled. The audience wants to know that the world they're following has rules. That the world they're invested in isn't going to bend to external factors that are irrelevant to them.
An author can do whatever he wants with the characters, that's not false. But the author should also have the responsibility to make sure it fits in cohesively with the other events in the narrative he has created.

They're lucky to have a Canon version of him. I don't see how it's a slap in the face though.

I made a bet with Alee9977 that Vegeta won't be beaten quickly by an opponent. If I lose, I switch my avatar to Vegeta getting beat by hit. If I win, he switches it to Vegeta holding Black by his hair. This will last a month.

Wat, it really is a robot. The video I have was of poor quality.
How can a robot attain god status?? I don't care about the design even though it's just a copy of Robo, but I really need an explanation as to how a robot became a god. Unless he's also a Metal Man, which would be boring.

Completely agree that most of these designs are garbage. I don't know what i was expecting to begin with since this is Dragon Ball Super we're talking about.
TheMikado wrote:I just realized the significance of the Broly look alike. If they see her and acknowledge they fought their own LSSJ in their universe then it would make him canon like Tarble is...!!!!! Broly and movie 8 could become canon soon.
Or they could do the complete opposite and treat her as something completely new! That would be a beautiful kick in the balls to all Broly fans.
As for the character herself, alternative great ways to troll (in addition to making her SSj Blue level):
- actually making her not a Saiyan, but a different race altogether (or a hybrid)
- describe her form as a regular Super Saiyan, but for females. That would mean Broly was like a girl

I would like to know who built him. Building robots stronger than super saiyan is already a really high feat. But building a robot that can be a god? That's kind of awesome.
