Oh, my I didn't even watch the episode by I'm liking what I'm seeing in the links.Saikyo no Senshi wrote:Amazing episode. One of the best. Nice storyboarding. Solid direction as well. The use of angles like this is such an effective way of giving exposition. Nice use of lighting as well. The composition was surprisingly strong for this episode.

HOLY SHIT THAT NEW ARC PV LOOKS AWESOME! DID I NOTICE A FEMALE BROLY? TF?!
i also love the lack of using the shine on the bodies and faces recently, very nice. AND WAS THAT GOD OF DESTRUCTION RONALD MCDONALD?! jk
Anyways, this episode was fantastic. and when i say fantastic, i mean Fantastic! especially for a filler episode. Gotta love Higashide man
Also, to whoever thinks that "Fortune smeller baba" Scene was inspired from TFS, Its not. its actually the other way around, it was a reference to DB where goku couldnt say "Fortune teller" he kept saying "Fortune seller" and stuff like that

Re: Super Animation Catalogue 2.0 - Episode 74
This was surprising. Amazing direction and storyboarding. This wasn't a conservative episode. I hope that the next few episodes are conservative. Even 77 by Yashima might be conservative but polished just like 70, considering the fact that it is not going to have any action.
Didn't see any angular Manabe faces. It does seem to me that, the animators are ignoring Yamamuro's designs or rather deviating from it.
The new OP looked great. Hard to know if there was any Yamamuro in it. But if we don't see his stamp on the OP, then I am pretty sure he must be on his way out.
And btw, Joker God of Destruction and Harley Quinn Angel, that's Trolliyama for you

So guys, I've noticed a style that popped up in sakai's episodes (67 and 73)

What do you guys think?

It might be Nikaido Atsushi. He has been in all sakai's episodes #64, #67 and #73 as a KA.iAnimationLover_ wrote:So guys, I've noticed a style that popped up in sakai's episodes (67 and 73)

Yea thats what i thought
Re: Super Animation Catalogue 2.0 - Episode 74
Anyone suppose Gohan turning into the Great Saiyaman may be BANK animation? It looked unreasonably well-animated for the kind of scene it was.

The first two are likely Higashide and the third is Takeo Ide.iAnimationLover_ wrote:So guys, I've noticed a style that popped up in sakai's episodes (67 and 73)

It's worth noting that his name is Itai, rather than Sakai. Had a Japanese guy tweet me a correction a few weeks back.

The whole episode had more frames than usual. We have so limited movement lately that in comparison it feels pretty goodDoctor. wrote:Anyone suppose Gohan turning into the Great Saiyaman may be BANK animation? It looked unreasonably well-animated for the kind of scene it was.
But I get what you mean. That moment reminded me of episode 14

i dont think so. why would that specific style appear on episodes under Itai's supervision? i could he completely off though. correct me if I'm wrong
Alright then my bad xd
Re: Super Animation Catalogue 2.0 - Episode 74
Because Higashide happened to work on that episode and Ide was a CAD on the other.iAnimationLover_ wrote:i dont think so. why would that specific style appear on episodes under Itai's supervision? i could he completely off though. correct me if I'm wrong

You've posted two different styles. You will find the third on literally every episode Ide has been CAD for.
Higashide's style can be found everywhere. Rewatch #69 and you'll find similar stuff in the short section he did. It's easy to tell it's him in what you've posted based on the smoke effects.
If you're curious about Itai himself, I actually posted a giant image showcasing my guess a few pages back.

Re: Super Animation Catalogue 2.0 - Episode 74
Some cool hand painted BGs in #75. Good stuff!

Who was in charge of the backgrounds? I love the first one for the atmosphere it creates, the second for being full of life and the third has some smart use of lighting and it feels rich. Credit to the director there for his understanding of lighting.
It's quite good and since most of the series has been bland as hell it feels even better. I highly doubt the Universe survival stuff will have anywhere near as good as BGs as this episode or #71. I'll be more than happy to be wrong though.
On a side note, Shida returned to PreCure and did some cool shit in the latest episode. Here's hoping he'll do just as good work in the Super OP.

I think I saw Tate's fx during the omni king daishinkan scene in the next arc preview.
Feel free to correct me if I say something wrong.

Futoshi Higashide is like the fusion of Naotoshi Shida and Yashima Yoshitaka. He always creates mind-blowing stuff like Naotoshi Shida, and also super fast like Yashima Yoshitaka.
EDIT: Also for the OP, I'm optimistic that Shida is in the team too. Maybe he's gonna do 15-30 seconds of epicness.

No. I just got the feeling that he's gonna do something in the OP. I mean a few seconds like in the Ultimate Tenkaichi Opening is enough for me.Mazingerdestro wrote:How come? That would be really sweet but still I want to save him for a major battle. Please Toei make the first battle look marvelous. One of the worse decisions in the Champa Arc was having an awful Goku vs Botamo fight.
Still for the opening we can survive without Shida.
Did anyone check that Goku vs Wolfguy fight? The face is clearly Goku ssj vs Frieza final form.
Ajay said it looked like Tate and after checking some faces I have o admit yep!!!! This is a good Tate
Re: Super Animation Catalogue 2.0 - Episode 74
With Yammamuro being apparently gone for quite a while now, with no contribution to Vegetto's design, no key animation in the Trunks arc (since he did pop up here and there in all the previous ones), no apparent corrections to the new intro and no contribution to the last two EDs, do you think it's possible he might doing some solo episodes in the new arc in order to buy even more time to for the production? Nothing really fancy, but just some on-model episodes with at best a few moments of animation. I mean, other than that or him being sick, I can't imagine why he would be kept away from pretty much everything that's been going on. As much as I dislike his work, we know he is in good terms with the people at Toei, so I can't imagine they would just get rid of him outright, so he must still be there in some capacity. Not to mention that if we are supposed to get on model art, I would take his own, rather than that of his copycats. Phasing his designs out slowly is very good, but if he's there he should be taken advantage of.

Re: Super Animation Catalogue 2.0 - Episode 74
Tate's all over that preview. The only stuff that doesn't really look like him are the GoD cutaways, the opening Cabba and Frost cut, and something mentioned below.Shreyas_Singh wrote:I think I saw Tate's fx during the omni king daishinkan scene in the next arc preview.
Obvious stuff first: we have the fight between Goku and wolf-looking creature. You can see the typical Tate smears, and despite the likely correction, his usual pronounced lower-lip is very clearly.

Next is the double Omni King spin with the Grand Priest and his effects. This is probably the most obvious one. Typical Tate smears and effects.

This is where it gets a little less clear. FemBroli's transformation has timing that's incredibly Tate-esque, not to mention the poses and general muscle shape. The opening effect is tiny, but similar to his work. You can also see his line work in the bottom-right arm sweep. It may well be someone similar, but in terms of regular animators on Super, it resembles him.

Lastly, this is the one I'm stretching on. Unlike the others, this doesn't have his timing, at all. The only thing I really have to go on is the muscle definition on Vegeta and the pointy feet and poses of the other character. This may well be someone like Manabe filtered through Yamamuro, though.

Either way, that's a good chunk of stuff that's very likely Tate's work. That definitely explains what happened with #72, then. I'm very interested to see the new OP's staff list (and seeing the OP in full, obviously). Looking forward to making sense of things!

I mean, it's probably slow paced. There's still a lot to explain like Bulla, and other God Of Destructions. We probably won't get that much fight until the Pre-Tournament starts.Mazingerdestro wrote:Gashif Aldi wrote:No. I just got the feeling that he's gonna do something in the OP. They can make it longer by developing these new characters, so animators will have a good time making their legendary cuts (also maybe attracting a bunch of Freelancers).
But still, I want to see more of this cut. It looks like something from a game OP

BTW: Ajay, where did you get that HD screenshots of the Trailer?
