Dragonball Z in popular culture?
This was inspired by seeing the advert posted on the main page with the fusion dance in it. Well, by inspired I mean "it triggered my memory".
Now back when DBZ was at the height of popularity, an online friend (who lived in new zealand) contacted me one day, sent me a link and demanded that I watch it. As it turns out, DBZ was popular enough in NZ that a band actually made an animated video based on the Namek saga. For years there was only a tiny and VERY poor quality video lurking around, but I finally got ahold of the single and got the better quality one!
Though I'd share because, well, it's entertaining!

Are there any other things like this that have appeared?

Cool video! Tadpole sound really good and they managed to capture the feel of the show very well. Thanks for sharing!

1 Corinthians 13: When I was a child, I spoke and thought and reasoned as a child. But when I grew up, I put away childish things. Except the anime. Never the anime.

Nice video. Good singers.
Um...I'm not sure if I could add this to the list of Dragon Ball in popular culture, but there has been "spoofs" of it on Cartoon Network shows like Billy and Mandy and Codename: Kids next door.
Yep....

There's also Robot Chicken's DBZ Christmas thing.

Speaking of Kobayashi, some dude from (I think) California just recently beat his hot dog eating record this year. I read it on my Wii News Channel.

Keroro Gunsou is an anime that parodies various shows, more commonly of the Gundam kind. In my sig is a clip from one of the episodes that sort of parodies Z a bit, since Tamama has the tendancy to act like he's in the Dragon Ball universe at times.
Everyone already mentioned South Park, Billy and Mandy, Kids Next Door, SNL, and others above.
If I remember right, there's a show on Nickelodeon called Kappa Mikey where there's a character that almost looks like Goku and voiced by Sean Schemmel

It was mentioned earlier in the thread, but not linked to, the Kobayashi TV Funhouse:

LOL, so much copywrite infringment going on. They use scenes from DBZ, music (from both the dub and the original), sound effects, and of course the parody song at the end set to the tune of the movie 13 ending.

The song 'Grand Unification', by the band 'Fightstar'. They use scenes from Dragonball Z (including The History Of Trunks).
And, let me add: this song is awesome. In the scene where Future Trunks sees Gohan lying in the ditch, it goes 'If I wake up on my own, if something happens, please come home. Wake me up before you go...'
Here's the behind-the-scenes video, where they talk about why they use Dragonball Z:

'The reason why we're using Dragonball Z is that I'm a big fan; probably for about 15 years now, and there is no anime in the world that captures the feeling of epic power that Dragonball does.'
