This arc is going to be brutal if its not good.
I thought last arc was make it or break it? I don't remember who but I remember a lot of people saying that the Future Trunks arc was Supers last chance.
Or maybe I imagined that from just a few people saying it.
Either way, crossing the fingers for this arc. Didn't want the tourny this soon but if we're getting it then bring it on.

I agree, but from the look of things and the hype Toei is generating, I bet the got a true gem in their hands. Or at least I hope.

If Toei would tell us the format of the tournament then we could have an easy answer to this question.
Also, the new opening should show all 10 of universe 7 fighting various different characters in the tournament.
The Zamasu arc was the turning point for Super and it was mostly well received, but this arc is bringing back nearly all the extended cast for fights. They can't screw that up. Especially the high expectations.

To me it seems like he chose 10 fighters on purpose so he could use the other fighters from Universe 7.

I still think it is a mistake going in with high expectations, I loved the Black arc and I like what I am seeing so far but...I didn't have much expectation for Black arc given how ehh the U6 arc was and the premise for the arc, and I had pretty high expectations for the U6 arc only to be left disappointed. I am in the middle for this, I advice others to adjust their expectations too.
I'm actually excited about this, loved the Joker tribute, the God and her Angel are awesome.
The Broly girl is really similiar to Cabba, she should be her sister or something. She's definetly from U6. The Broly thing I didn't dislike, altough I wouldn't have used green hair, just the common golden. Let's see how they handle this. Also, it seems like Champa has forgiven Frost, he was utterly pissed when he cheated in the U6xU7 tournament. But when the Universe life is on the line, I guess he really needs the best fighters.

People said that about every Arc in Super.

You say it like its a bad thing. People are different, a piece of fiction where there are no complaints exists only in the mind of the insane. Even in obscure pieces.
When Super apparently shoves Goku down our throats:

HeroR wrote:The characters in Super can work with Goku and they're treated like equals to him. Goku just being in the room doesn't take away from the character. In Z, the characters were so depended on Goku that they couldn't go an episode without mentioning him in some way even by hoping he will arrived, get better, training to get stronger, our last hope, being like him, ect. Goku was wanked to hell in Z, even when he wasn't in the room and everyone else was secondary to him. In fact, this was a major issue Goku had, which is why he didn't want to do anything in the Buu Saga.

I don't think a show like Dragon Ball would get cancelled due to quality dropping. I mean Bleach did, and Toriko. Also Hitman Reborn and that was a good show. But hey, Naruto is still going despite the shitshow it's been the past few years. As someone who has thoroughly enjoyed Super since episode 28. Except the Copy Vegeta episodes. I think nothing can happen to make me drop the show, especially the great quality the comedic and character writing has been.

That isn't really true. The make or break was the Champa Saga, which was well received. Future Trunks Saga just solid its place since it was extremely well-received to the point of being called one of Dragon Ball's best sagas. Not sure where this narrative that this arc is the make or break.

Goku barely took a backseat in the Buu saga, at best he took a leisurely stroll round back while everyone else cried for him to come back.

Brolyne being something other than a saiyan would be an epic troll, but somehow I doubt that it's the case. Using the obligatory species diversity across twelve universes is a good excuse to have "LSSJ" or "SSJ4" characters in Super, though.
Probably Kanzenshuu's biggest Bulla fangirl. Current avatar: DBU Bulla as Sailor Princess Sadala, based on Sailor Moon: Cosmic Dance
Dragon Ball Ultimate - 76 out of 150 chapters complete JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Action Blue - link Sailor Moon: Mindful of Love - link | Sailor Moon: Cosmic Dance - link
Remember when Toei dropped the first full PV for Super there was a scene involving Beerus and Champa that wasn't in the show at all? What if Toei are literally trolling right now and this Female Broly doesn't show up at all... Unlikely, but man I will laugh soooo hard
The clown looks more like Pennywise, not Joker, but oh well...
I'm curious to know what will happen at the end of the tournament if the universes will not be restored. What they will do the other Gods? war? they'll go to another universe?

Maybe. It really depends. As for the possibility of the others fighting. Some of them are bound to fight given that Toriyama could have just left us with a 5-man team instead. But he went ahead and increased it to 10. I'll make a guess that Gohan, Kuririn, 17, 18, and Piccolo are the likeliest to get a good fight.

Hahaha
So many people jumping because of this line, Yes this is supposed to be a very big and good arc, the most humongous we have ever gotten in Dragonball, this arc really will be a deciding factor whether super will be remembered fondly or not in the years to come, it has been going on as pretty average as of now even if the ft arc was insanely popular..
At Least for me, this is the latest arc I am putting my expectations on, so yes it has the potential to make or break the series for me till the next bigger badder arc comes along
The Lord moves in mysterious ways but you don't have to. Please use your blinker
I wonder if in this arc we'll see a new transformation for the Saiyans, Super Saiyan Christ or something like that... That is strong enough to fight against Angels and such.
Are we too old to enjoy new Dragon Ball movies/series?

Guys, I'm going to be straight with you. If you feel the show has gotten 'silly' ... it hasn't. You're just 'too old for this shit'. Seriously, 95% of the people in those boards do not fit the target demographic of the show, so don't expect the show to be 'everything you hoped for'. I'm referring to the people here who expect Super to be rich with dark moments, serious storytelling, meaningful characters etc etc. It won't. It's a show for kids. A show for kids being kids. Everyone in those boards has a manchild in him/her, clamoring to get out, and that's fine. But having unrealistic expectations (such as believing the show grew up alongside you) is naïve at best. Honestly, do you take seriously a story where the supposed God of Destruction halts his urges to blow up stuff in order to eat ice cream sundae? That's the show's silliness at full force, take it for what it is. The show hasn't matured one bit, so don't expect it too. Again, I'm not saying that's a bad thing. I'm saying *that* is DB and always will be.
