I honestly don't like this one so much. He sped up the footage and as a result, while the animation seems smoother ,the fight doesn't have any flow or rhythm to it anymore. The color correction is too bright and takes away some thick lines which makes it look less organic . Also, what is up with that title "animated by Madhouse"? But this color scheme sort of reminds me of Yo Son Goku so I guess that's nice.iAnimationLover_ wrote:Shreyas_Singh wrote:I think you've attached the wrong link, mate. I think the next episode will be supervised by Ishikawa. Quite a few of the shots in the NEP look like his work. Also, I don't think Shimanuki will supervise the next episode, as none of the shots look like his work.

It had his typical boarding. I don't remember exactly, but there were a few good shots. Not his best work, but definitely worth watching. And, Chioka ain't coming back, he has his honor!ArchedThunder wrote:Speaking of Chioka, if the next arc has at least average production time for its episodes I wonder if Chioka would be willing to come in and direct/storyboard an episode. it could be that he's giving the episode an incredibly light touch. Newtype hasn't been wrong in the past couple episodes eitherDragonBallFan8001 wrote:I think the next episode will be supervised by Ishikawa. Quite a few of the shots in the NEP look like his work. I'm guessing that ishikawa is gonna supervise the episode after Yashima's.
The NEP also matches his style of episode, a focus on character art over animation.
Maybe, but there is absolutely zero Shimanuki in the NEP.iAnimationLover_ wrote: it could be that he's giving the episode an incredibly light touch. Newtype hasn't been wrong in the past couple episodes either
Newtype did have an error recently btw, they said 73 only had Itai as supervisor.

-Higashide-
Probably nothing new, but I noticed Higashide likes to use camera shakes from above view sometimes. It's the second time he does this and he seems also to be the only one to do it.
It can be helpful in identifying his cuts in these situations:
There's also the impact effects he uses, but that's better watching his cuts than use print screens.

We don't need him. Just believe in your theory that Morio went ahead to work on the Universe Survival arc and we're good.ArchedThunder wrote:Speaking of Chioka, if the next arc has at least average production time for its episodes I wonder if Chioka would be willing to come in and direct/storyboard an episode. A diverse line up of directors and storyboarders is a good thing. Super doesn't "need" Chioka to come in and direct or storyboard an episode, but that's irrelevant to the question I raised.FortuneSSJ wrote:We don't need him. There is Zero Tsuji in that scene.Shreyas_Singh wrote:Tate + Tsuji? Also,I'm probably in the minority that likes the wolf design.

It's either Yamamuro correcting Tate but not totally changing his work, someone else correcting Tate but following the models pretty closely, or it's just not Tate at all.

None of these images have any Tsuji traits.
Re: Super Animation Catalogue 2.0 - Episode 74
Well I don't see anything from Yamamuro either, except maybe the second image. Everything is on-model but nothing from Yamamuro, even the shading is differentArchedThunder wrote:There is Zero Tsuji in that scene.Shreyas_Singh wrote:Tate + Tsuji? Re: Super Animation Catalogue 2.0 - Episode 74
It's unlikely that this is Yamamuro. It lacks his signature nitpicky, perfectionist, aggravating correction style. The shading doesn't line up, either. It pretty much has to be Tate, though, unless someone else has begun emulating him. Another animator is even less likely than Yamamuro correction.ArchedThunder wrote:It's either Yamamuro correcting Tate but not totally changing his work, someone else correcting Tate but following the models pretty closely, or it's just not Tate at all.
The best assumption is that someone else is correcting him, but it doesn't resemble any of the likely candidates. That being the case, could it just be Tate himself drawing on-model? We know he's fully capable of it, but I don't see why he would, and it more resembles a correction anyway.
I'm at a loss. I'll probably never find out regardless, so I guess I'll just leave it be, maybe someone more perceptive than me can sort it out.

Re: Super Animation Catalogue 2.0 - Episode 74
Sorry for going off the discussion, but I just wanted to say that Futoshi's work in this episode has really given me an easy source in which to check what his work on Super actually looks like. Originally I was a little unsure what to look for, but seeing his work here perfectly highlights all his noteworthy traits such as timing, character art and effects. I noticed it might be a little rough at times, but I still think its the scene which best demonstrates the majority of his traits in there best form.

Also the Broly scene is most definitely done by Tate, it reminds me of his work on Toriko.

Yamamuro wasn't over bearing with his corrections in the extra footage for the Future Trunks edition of F either though.Jinzoningen MULE wrote:It's unlikely that this is Yamamuro. I didn't watch, but either way, that's an exception, not a rule. If we see a longer clip later on, maybe we can say for sure.ArchedThunder wrote:Yamamuro wasn't over bearing with his corrections in the extra footage for the Future Trunks edition of F either though.

Probably a similar case like Super ? He has hardly done anything major on Super in a really long time, so might have also been the case for that special ?ArchedThunder wrote:

These image though

They me Shimanuki's vibes, maybe because of the ear and the head shape that look a lot like the way he draws them.
Maybe this could be a Tate's work with a little of Shimanuki's or Yamamuro's correction, or it could be 100% Tate, he can draw on model if he wants to.

Yeah Ajay pointed out earlier that the Loli Broli scene has Tate's timing. We'll have to wait till we get credits.JazzMazz wrote:Also the Broly scene is most definitely done by Tate, it reminds me of his work on Toriko.
