So...how is Roshi supposed to fight in the tournament?
I mean, I love his character and would be awesome to see him raising in power ( paradise herb anyone?) but realistically speaking, what could Roshi do?
Maybe they bring him more for a sensei role, rather than a Fighter one? Will whis train the crew, bringing them to god tier?

Ever since girl Broly was revealed I'm getting worried Roshi will try to flirt with her and then just get immediately knocked out of the ring. I'd like to be proven wrong, but I don't know. He might not even get a real fight and just be treated like a gag.

Whis training is the most obvious but do not assume that every other fighter in the tournament is strong. Also the format of the tournament will probably force all fighters to be useful because the big fighters ( Goku, Vegeta, Piccolo and Buu) will not be allowed to participate in all of the matches.MrBlackFox wrote:I mean, I love his character and would be awesome to see him raising in power ( paradise herb anyone?) but realistically speaking, what could Roshi do?

He's not going to be beating anyone worth their salt, but he has defeated Freeza soldiers, so he's definitely stronger than he was back in the manga. He may be at Saiyan or even Namek arc levels if we really push it, which is acceptable for U7's standards pre-Super Saiyans.

Well, some people struggle to even put Yamcha and Tien at that level. They should easily have broken 200,000 each, with Tien much higher, in my opinion. I'm talking about Yamcha at his peak BTW.Doctor. wrote:He's not going to be beating anyone worth their salt, but he has defeated Freeza soldiers, so he's definitely stronger than he was back in the manga. I'm not putting much faith in Krillin, Tien, Buu, C17 & C18 and of course Roshi. Piccolo, Gohan, Vegeta, and Goku will be your main fighters.

Buu is stronger than Piccolo though, and possibly Gohan too.MagmonKai wrote:I'm not putting much faith in Krillin, Tien, Buu, C17 & C18 and of course Roshi. Piccolo, Gohan, Vegeta, and Goku will be your main fighters.

A lot of fights will surely not be won only on strength. They are all there for a reason and this assumption that the majority will do bad is based on nothing since we do not know the format of the tournament.omaro34 wrote:Buu is stronger than Piccolo though, and possibly Gohan too.MagmonKai wrote:I'm not putting much faith in Krillin, Tien, Buu, C17 & C18 and of course Roshi. Re: So...how is Roshi supposed to fight in the tournament?
Roshi more than likely won't beat anybody who's extremely powerful like a high tier or top tier adversary, but I could see him defeating somebody weaker. But then, I could be wrong. If these past few episodes are foreshadowing to an extent, then Gohan and Kuririn will possibly have a decent role to play. With 17 returning and 18's blurb about team battles, I have a feeling they'll get some time as well. There isn't really much to go off of at the moment, we really just need more info. Trying to call who are the mains fighters this early doesn't seem to make sense.

Has anybody thought that maybe UNIVERSE 7 needs to lose some fights? I would imagine it's easier to swallow if Krillin or Tien or even Roshi lost versus the top fighters in our Universe which is GOKU.
Re: So...how is Roshi supposed to fight in the tournament?
I have no vlue but I doubt ALL opponents will be god level or somoething... and maybe all of them will get some training from Whis.
If not he will be just there for comedy as Buu was in the U6 arc... I hope I'm wrong.
But maybe his knowledge will let him outsmart some people

I think both Roshi and Tien can hold their own. For them it's never been about raw power but rather technique. Plus power levels have been all over the place. Just look at Future Trunks.

I think some bullshit will happen prior to the arc beginning leading to Roshu not even fighting.

Not sure he's actually going to participate. Even in RoF he shouldn't be any stronger than Raditz. Unless he's been binge using the gravity chamber without us knowing. LOL

Re: So...how is Roshi supposed to fight in the tournament?
I of course considered this. I have a feeling all of them or at least most of them is losing at least one fight.MagmonKai wrote:Has anybody thought that maybe UNIVERSE 7 needs to lose some fights? I sort of feel that's the problem with Dragon Ball in a way. Technique and skill doesn't matter all that much most if not all the time. Tenshinhan and Roshi having several techniques never really helped them win fights.MKCSTEALTH wrote:I think both Roshi and Tien can hold their own. If he could beat up random fighters on RoF than he can random universe fighters.

Re: So...how is Roshi supposed to fight in the tournament?
If they focus on his special techniques, I think he could provide useful. I think it depends on how much the anime references Toyotaro. In Chapter 20 of the manga, Zamasu utilizes his Kaioshin abilities much more than in the anime, and to great effect.
