I hate the fact that everyone is shipping Female Broly with Cabba.

Re: Unpopular DB opinions
This probably isn't unpopular, but maybe it is? Anyway, haha, I think Battle of the Gods just all around is a terrible movie. The fight scenes were some of the lamest I've witnessed in an anime, which is surprising since its DBZ, and the over abundance of CG made things tacky and aesthetically unpleasing.
The power scaling was very odd as Beerus can easily defeat the Z fighters, yet his slap didn't kill Bulma? Like, this is the guy who legit doesn't care for his actions and will kill without moments notice, and yet his godly slap was held back so much that it didn't even injure Bulma? And as far as the powerscaling goes, they had Gotenks and Mystic Gohan fighting Beerus and not get far, yet because Bulma gets slapped somehow that causes him to do more damage despite being in a lower level state of Super Saiyan.
The idea of a Super Saiyan "God" is laughable and just feels so out of place for narrative and history of the series. It's clearly there to extend the series at any means necessary, but the icing on the cake is an unborn child inside the womb was able to give the strength to channel this form. I just....can't even begin to describe how ridiculous and hilarious that is at the same time.

That is the most unpopular opinion on this site, and nearly every site. Its not probably an unpopular opinion, that is THE unpopular opinionKokonoe wrote:This probably isn't unpopular, but maybe it is? Yes, it's considered to be the best dragon ball movie. Of all time, and that includes that as well.Kokonoe wrote:Haha, wow. Re: Unpopular DB opinions
It's considered the best DB movie, but I don't think anyone seriously defends the SSG ritual.
Re: Unpopular DB opinions
Meh, it's overrated. I certainly enjoyed other DB movies more and I don't think that it's the one with the best quality regardless of the enjoyment factor.

Who calls it the "womb scene"?
I enjoyed it a lot, and that's what matters.

Re: Unpopular DB opinions
The best? I...guess I just don't see it. Like, from so many angles it doesn't do it for me. Like if it had actually entertaining fights, I could watch it for that but it has a lot of stalling and lack of motion in them.Gog wrote:Yes, it's considered to be the best dragon ball movie. If the story actually fit in with the previous series and didn't feel so outright different in terms of how characters personalities are portrayed or the way the powers are obtained then I'd be able to probably latch on to the story.
It honestly, for me, felt like a step back in every way imaginable. Of course, with that said, it's all opinions. I'm still rather surprised at how unpopular my opinion is, however. Crazy how that works.
I guess without stepping on too many toes here, for me It's actually a pretty ludicrous scene for the series that the idea that a child in the womb would channel said form and thus, it's the first thing that comes to mind. I'm actually critical of some of the transformations in the Buu saga as well.ABED wrote:Who calls it the "womb scene"?

I never actually saw that one, but yeah, that too.Gog wrote:E-EVEN VADOS X FREEZA?!? THE BEST SHIP IN THE WORLD!!?!?! How dare you!!!
Another unpopular opinion: I'd like to see arcs in Super (filler or not) with rare character combinations. I've always wanted more Videl and Goten, for example. Of course, other ones such as Piccolo and Bulma, Beerus and Piccolo, etc.

You have some valid points that I agree with. BoG is pretty overrated, it's was enjoyable for me but not as Movie 9, 12 and 13.Kokonoe wrote:This probably isn't unpopular, but maybe it is? It's the mother, not the child that gives Goku the energy.I guess without stepping on too many toes here, for me It's actually a pretty ludicrous scene for the series that the idea that a child in the womb would channel said form and thus, it's the first thing that comes to mind. Other than Vegeta, who was different? If the story actually fit in with the previous series and didn't feel so outright different in terms of how characters personalities are portrayed or the way the powers are obtained then I'd be able to probably latch on to the story.
I prefer BoG to 13. 13 is okay, but the bad guy is just a giant monster, which is not nearly as interesting as a character with a personality.

It's not an overrated film. Its just that you have different tastes, and opinions like any dead boy, put in a virtual world.Noah wrote:You have some valid points that I agree with. Re: Unpopular DB opinions
The fight between Beerus and Goku isn't engaging because of the visuals, but because of the dialogue. I commend the film for trying something new with Goku and going deeper into his psyche.
