AnimeNEXT 2007: Official Planning

Post by VegettoEX » Wed Jun 13, 2007 10:32 pm

AnimeNEXT; July 6th - 8th; Secaucus, NJ
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

Since the con's a little less than a month away, it's time to do some hardcore planning. What I'd like in this thread is simply a response from those that are going, and what days you'll be there. I'm not really looking for additional discussion on anything, and I don't want replies from you if you're not going to the con.

In terms of events, I've got the DBZ material lined up for Saturday. I don't want to give away any additional information on it just yet, and the date/time could change, but that's what it's looking like right now. It will involve really fun stuff, prizes, games, and the recording of the podcast (as a part of the convention, itself; you don't have to follow creepy ol' Mike, Meri, and Julian to their hotel room for the recording).

So hit me back in this thread with what I've requested above, and I'll respond with more information as the time comes. Thanks!

Hm...well since I'm gonna be going to AX and Otakon, doing an episode of the podcast again would probably be the only real reason I have for going to NEXT this year. I saw that the at-door price for a ticket on Saturday is about $35. If I were to go for that day to be involved, d'you think getting a ticket at the door would be diffucult, or is it not that much of a hassle since it's a smaller con?

I shall be there on Saturday, and that day only.
So if I run into yas, see you there. If not, then lucky you I guess.

There is a very good chance of me being there. I'll definately try to find you guys on Saturday (the only day I'll be there).

Sounds awesome.

EDIT: Won't be able to make it. God damn it.

I'm looking to going on Saturday, but I'm probably (50/50) going alone. So if anyone wants to meet up, let me know.

Awww, we're not following creepy Mike, Meri, and Julian back to their hotel room? Damn.... XD No, really. Another live Podcast recording? Count me in, again~

I'll be there, perhaps all three days... Umm, if anyone cares, I'll be the goon dressed as Youji from Loveless, and my cousin Amanda will be reprising her role as Juuhachigou. ^^

I'll be there with my sister all days ^^. First time at an American convention. I'm really looking forward to the AMV contest and if you guys are doing a panel. I'll probably be in DBZ cosplay, so just look for a short girl!

I'm going all three days, since I'm half an hour away. ^^; I was originally going to stay at the hotel, but uh... let's just say it didn't happen. Repetitively.

How will you know it's me: I have no idea. :P I'm a boneless lurker in RL too. I'll likely be with a high school girl or a group of high school girls, who will all be asking me to buy them hentai. So yeah, look out for me?

(I'm definitely going to the DB panel, AMV contest, and the podcast if you have one. I may go to Otaku Generation's podcast if they have one, but not if it's at midnight again.)

You should be fine. Shouldn't take more than 5 minutes on line.

*Relevent information in bold.

There isn't a blog page for AnimeNEXT this year; so I posted my experience here. Hope that's alright... Sorry if it isn't.

End of Friday: (Saturday 2am now) - Way too tired right now, but just wanted to say I saw you guys there, and I officially know what Julian looks like now cause he gave me a flyer and I asked him his name, and he said, "Julian." :D I knew what Mike and Meri looked like from the AMV panel and contest last year; can't wait for tomorrow. I'm not dressing as Piroko again; despite how much everyone loved the shiny, tin-foiled covered whiffle balls, the pigtails are painful and hard to do. I might buy and wear cat ears and/or a tail.

Oh, and I'm so sorry! When I saw you (Mike and Meri), I was too shy to say hi. ^^; It was easier with Julian, since he spoke to me first and gave me a snappy flyer. X3 I will be at the "DBZ Variety Hour", so I will say hi to you then. (Not to mention, I dragging everyone and their boyfriend from Ohio to see the "AMV Contest" at noon. [/almost not exaggerating]) The "Everything About DBZ" thing was alright; they seemed to know a lot about the MMORPG; other than that, though, I thought you (Daizenshuu EX-tachi), are more knowledgable.

DBZ cosplays seen: Saiyaman, Videl, GT Pan, two Bulmas, Vegeta.
What's scarier than a DBZ H-game?
