Should Roshi learn to fly now?

Discussion, generally of an in-universe nature, regarding any aspect of the franchise (including movies, spin-offs, etc.) such as: techniques, character relationships, internal back-history, its universe, and more.

Should Roshi learn to fly now?

Post by Kishido » Tue Jan 24, 2017 4:00 pm

I know he thinks it is overrated cuz of his rivaly with Master Shen but at this rate and with his upcoming role maybe he should learn to fly? Crane school should nothing to with it anymore.

I have no doubt that he would have no problems to do so with his ki control if people as Videl have been able to do it.

I know he is old and there's the whole "you can't teach an old dog new tricks" thing, but I don't really understand why he didn't learnt to fly when all the others did. If nothing else, it is just really convenient for everyday life.

Seriously. If Videl can so easily Roshi should definitely be able to learn it.

It wouldn't seem like Roshi to me. It's already weird enough seeing him on the front lines as an active warrior. I'd rather he use Baby Gamora or maybe a Kinto'un to keep up with the flying enemies. It would make his fighting style more unique.

If Maggetta can manage without it I guess he can too.

Master Roshi literally stopped training after King Piccolo. It's a miracle he was even able to do anything in RoF.

Also, Roshi kind of has to learn to fly now, because he's miles behind everyone on U7's team and probably all the other fighters in the tournament and learning a basic technique would elevate his level somewhat.

Yes, that way he can be added to Xenoverse 3.

Retired or not, if people were flying all of a sudden I know I'd want to learn, especially if I already had a pretty advanced understanding and control of ki etc.

Well, he can already do a white aura, so flight is probably just a matter of time :D

That kind of aura has been shown only by guys around 10,000 or stronger, so there might be that too.

Why dosen't Vegeta use Kamehameha when it's clearly Better than Galick gun?

You don't use your rival's techniques even if it's much much better and handier..
Roshi probably can fly at his first try, he just dosen't want to and probably never will..

How is Kamehameha better than the Galick Gun, again?

They're perfectly equivalent, dude. More even, it's the Super Kamehameha that's equivalent to the Galick Gun. The regular one is weak-ass.

Galick gun is a generic ray blast, Kamehameha isn't, it uses users internal energy..

Dude, that internal energy is called ki, and yes, the Galick Gun does use it.

Unless you mean life force, which the Kikoho uses for example. The Kamehameha does not use that.

I've always asked myself that question. If Videl can master flying in a week or around that time frame, why can't Roshi? If anything, Roshi is more capable of learning techniques than Hercule's daughter.. :P

Or maybe Roshi just no longer cared, I don't know. But as others say, it's very convenient for every day things.

Uh, all ki attacks use user's internal energy. It's just that the Kamehameha uses MORE of it than other attacks. Characters have even commented about this on a few occasions.

The "internal energy" I mentioned is supposed to point to that extra portion of energy Kamehameha gets access to which Galick gun dosen't..
With the same Power level Kamehameha is stronger than Galick gun.

Stop trolling, you know damn well which one I'm referring to.

Goku couldn't overpower Vegeta's Galick Gun with his Kamehameha even at Kaioken x3, he needed Kaioken x4 to do it.

Vegeta's max power is 18,000 and Kaioken x3 Goku is over 24,000. This goes to show that the Galick Gun is superior, if anything. To be fair though, it was charged for a bit longer than Goku's Kamehameha, but that in no way shows Kamehameha is the stronger technique at an equal powerlevel. You pulled this whole thing out of your ass.
