Is it really worth the effort to complete DBZ BT2 fully?

Post by PrincessVegeta » Thu Jun 14, 2007 10:21 pm

Hi guys

I'm just wondering if it's really worth the effort to complete Dragon Ball Z Tenkaichi 2 on all 3 difficulty levels?

Since I've gotten through the first 2 and am on the 3rd one which is up to the Bebi Saga.

And my question is, do you get anything for completing all 3 difficulty levels in Dragon Adventure and Ultimate Battle Z. Or do you just get the rights to boast that you've gotten through it and get nothing??

The reason why I asked that question is because I've recently got Metal Slug Anthology and am anctious to play it, and I don't want to complete DBZ BT2 so quickly if it's not worth it.

Thankies if anyone can help me <^_^>

Well, I personally only completed the game on its lowest difficulty, mainly because I initially had trouble with battling the enemies and some of them were pretty hard (especially Dodoria, the first battle against Gohan in the Buu saga, and Yamcha to get the second requirement for Gramps Gohan). I don't really see any differences in the "RPG"-type landing spots and cut-scenes depending on the difficulty level, as I have played a level or two beyond Difficulty 1, plus it doesn't help that there isn't anything more to achieve in the game after the story mode's already beat for my interest. This game certainly isn't Budokai 3, so I wasn't playing like hell to level my players up. To answer your question, once the story mode is finished, you oughta have every character/stage/mode-in-the-game unlocked (there's also an interactive Bra in the training area if you've gone through all the Training steps); all you really have to do after that is beat the World Tournament modes, which is what I did. I say just go with Difficulty 1, beat the crap out of the rest of the levels, and enjoy every second of the enjoyable aspects of the game.

Thankies, but I forgot to mention how far I've progressed through the game so far... so here's my completion list

- I've finished Dragon Adventure in the first 2 difficulty levels and have recently gotten through the 3rd difficulty level and am up to the Bebi Saga.

- I've finished Ultimate Battle Z in the first 2 difficulty levels but haven't attempted to beat it on the 3rd difficulty level yet.

- I've got through all the tournament levels and unlocked the Kiss Of 18 portara at the end.

- I've unlocked all of the characters including the extra onces exclusive to the Wii for completing levels 1-10 in Ultimate Battle Z.

- And I've gotten 100% on every item to collect.

... So you could say that basically I've almost finished the entire game literally

Oh you mean through Training mode, nope I haven't yet but I'll do it now :P

But really I wonder what you get for completing the entire game. Is it just a message in Ultimate Battle Z from Korin saying you've completed all stages or is it something even better :o

Unless it's something to improve a fighter's stats, I doubt it (though I myself have yet to go through it). Completing Dragon Adventure alone (and a couple of the land-spot battles to get Gramps Gohan), the World Tournament modes, and Training allows you access to all characters/stages/game-modes as said. It's your call to continue, if ya' do finish, please do fill me in on what the end-of-the-road prize is. o.o

To fully complete the game, do you mean get 100% in the items list? 'Cause you could do that without beating all the difficulties. I have 100% of the items, and there's nothing special for getting all of them. The items list also includes unlocked features, by the way; not just equippable items.

I have completed the story mode, gotten every character, completely beaten Ultimate Battle Z (On every difficulty level), but I'm not so sure about having all of the items, yet. :?

*Wonders what will happen to game once Complete*

In my opinion, if you're already this far, you might as well just finish it off. :D
I mean, when you get down to it, there isn't much point in finishing most games. I just recently beat Naruto: Ultimate Ninja 2(Well, a few more missions left and BGMs) and there isn't really anything for me after that, but I'm still gonna play the game just because its fun. And it feels good to know I've beat a game all the way. I've only beaten 2 games all the way besides DBZ games(I still only have 90% on Budokai 3).

It doesn't matter if you complete story on the different difficulties, but Ultimate Battle Z has record keeping for each difficulty.

The first time I played thru story was a mixure of 1 and 2 for the first couple of sagas, the 1 for the rest of it. The next three time through I did it on level 3. And by the time I was half way througfh the second time, the game was just too easy. I actually wish that there were more difficultly levels (as well as higher item level caps).

If you've played through it once and have all the characters and everthing you need, there's really no need to do it again.

Righteo I will then, so now I've progressed through the Super 17 Saga and am now onto the Omega Shenron Saga... so I'll tell you what I unlock once I've gotten through it.

Also I've taken my LV122 portara's off two of my characters who don't need them anymore and given them to SSJ4 Goku and SSJ4 Vegeta since they don't get enough scenes to fully level up :P

Hold on! I don't want you to misread what I said. I'm not saying you'll unlock something for beating it if you've already beat it before(unless you don't have all the potara items) I'm just saying it'll feel good to know you've beaten something completely 100%.

Well guys

So far I've now gotten through Dragon Adventure on difficulty level 3, and didn't get a message from Goku saying that I've cleared all of Dragon Adventure (Then again that only happened when I got through it the first time)

B.T.W Raditz and Zarbons side story almost murdered my hands due to the enemys being far to powerful and fast

Anyways now onto Ultimate Battle Z on level 3 hopefully Korin would give me something better than a congrats... only time will tell :P

Sorry to bump this topic, but I'm just letting you know that I've finally gotten through level 3 of Ultimate Training and guess what my reward is...

Nothing absolutely nothing!!! All I got was the Cource Clear message and Korin saying "You did great kid, you've come a long way" and got the Shenrons record portra for the 3rd time.

Eventhough I got nothing, I did find out some cool secrets in Ultimate Training which is exclusive to level 3 only. If you use an Ultimate blast on certain oppenents in different modes, you can fight a hidden character... so here is a list of them which I kept note of when it happened <^_^>

VS Uub in Kakarot Road: Beat Kid Buu with an Ultimate Blast.

VS Mercinary Tao in Assult Force: Beat any opponent with an Ultimate Blast.

VS Brolly The Legendary Super Saiyan in Saiyan Blood: Beat Bardock with an Ultimate Blast.

VS Super Saiyan 2 Goku and Vegeta in Dragon Tag 2: Beat any two oponents with two Ultimate Blasts.

VS Super Saiyan 3 Gotenks in Ultimate Children: Beat Kid Goku with an Ultimate Blast. (In this case try to knock him out of the tournament ring with one, eventhough it's a lot harder than it looks)

VS Super Baby 2 in Normal-ism: Beat Super Android 13 with an Ultimate Blast.

VS Omega Shenron in Ultimate Dragon: Beat Syn Shenron with an Ultimate Blast.

VS Ultimate Hercule in Unlimited: Beat Super Saiyan 4 Gogeta with an Ultimate Blast.

Oh well that's the end of that, now I've fully completed Dragonball Z Tenkaichi 2... and will now play on my Metal Slug Anthology game. Until the next Tenkaichi game comes out that is :P

Congrats! To think you actually went the full distance, you got stamina and patience. But maybe there are other games you have yet to fully finish; Budokai 3, Super DBZ, the original Budokai even?
