Why would they fight? If anyone interrupts the tournament the are many others who will deal the threat and they won't replace the current 10 as they are promoting them too much.

Trunks and Goten are supposed to be important characters. The Buu saga and the 2008 special portrayed them as such. It's only since Super started they bizarrely keep leaving them out of everything.

To be fair present trunks got decent screen Time in the ft arc and both Goten and trunks got a mayor role in copy Vegeta and that's it but the reason for Goten and trunks get shafted in super because toriyama has no interest for Goten and Trunks

We literally have 10 of the strongest fighters from every universe, I highly doubt Goten and Trunks would be needed for anything if something does happen.
