Lunch and the female Super Saiyan

Post by DragonBallFoodie » Sat Jan 28, 2017 4:17 pm

is it true that Lunch was phased out because her split-personality disorder was too similar to the Super Saiyan transformation and so people got confused?

And having a female Super Saiyan is not helping matters either, especially as she looks all nice and sweet with dark hair but goes aggressive and boisterous when her hair goes blond.

A true hero goes beyond not the limits of power, but the limits that divide countries and people.

This isn't true at all. If it was, why wasn't she in the early parts of DBZ where there wasn't any super saiyans?

I made a bet with Alee9977 that Vegeta won't be beaten quickly by an opponent. If I lose, I switch my avatar to Vegeta getting beat by hit. If I win, he switches it to Vegeta holding Black by his hair. This will last a month.

... and you deal them that time twist mess?
Lunch was stripped out 'cause of reasons. She was a plot breaker. How much before someone react to her violence? Think of Vegeta...
I learned english listening to songs. So I don't know anything about. The day you had to learn play piano by just listening .mp3, you'll understand.

Okay thanks.

The fact remains though that these are two characters with similar elements that it's risky to have them together, and one can only be given focus.

But if they work something out then it should be cool.

How was she a plot breaker? She was a fairly minor character that everyone liked but who didn't really do too much. And her only serious interactions were with Master Roshi (pounding bag), Tien (love interest) and maybe Bulma (bf).

A plot breaker: something used to have a plot stop.
Like Tora in Uruseiyatsura. When you don't know how to solve the situation, Tora turn into a monster and you can go elsewhere with the story.
The same was Lunch.
Characters are, first thing, plot elements, Lunch have no reason to be here. She turn chaos mode? Vegeta have no issue to blast her. Beerus the same. So, she have no more role.

I got faith.

We are bound to see Lunch soon. Indeed, this is the year SHE BREAKS OFF THE JAIL.

And that's why (in-universe) we haven't see any of her lately. Because she's in prison.

At least going by DBO's timeline.

I got faith.

They should reveal that Launch actually has a saiyan ancestor way back in her family tree, and that her transformation is actually a lingering remnant of her ancestor's saiyan DNA.

Lunch wasn't written out. Toriyama admitted that he literally forgot she existed so she unintentionally got phased out. If I recall her last official appearance was in the 2009 Jump Festa special. Which is why I think it would be hilarious if she just showed up again randomly at some point during Super.

Super Saiyan wasn't inspired by Lunch. Her absence is not related to Goku's amplification of strength.
Dragon Ball Super Exciting Guide: Story Volume wrote:Why does Goku’s hair turn gold when he becomes a Super Saiyan?
I decided on the design for the Super Saiyan for, to be honest… a simple reason that will leave you saying “What?”. I always have only a single person, Assistant-kun, helping me with my work. That Assistant-kun’s time was always taken up doing the black fill of Goku’s hair, so the biggest reason was in order to save time. Because when he became a Super Saiyan, we wouldn’t have to do the black fill. It also had the effect of making it easy to tell from his appearance that Goku had gotten stronger, so it killed two birds with one stone. Only, at the time, it was considered that his strength would increase 50-fold when he became a Super Saiyan, but that was a bit of an exaggeration. My feeling as the creator is that, while drawing it, I felt that it was about a 10-fold change from what it was up to that point.

More specifically, Dragon Ball Online claims she accomplished escaping jail 100 times! I doubt she was imprisoned long with each subsequent attempt.
