OK while I do kind of agree with ChronoTwigger, I also have to defend the topic creator. He's aware of his flaws and shortcomings and he said Dragon Ball HELPS him cope. Not "DRAGON BALL IS THE REASON I BREATHE". He says his world is made a little bit brighter by Dragon Ball and that's okay. So I think that's an important distinction to make.

Well, thanks to coming to my defense. Like I had mentioned in an earlier post, I'll be the first to admit I have some problems. In fact, these issues are probably far worse than anyone could even guess. All I was trying to say is that I've had a rough 10 or so years, and it's good to get back to something that I enjoyed before I turned into a raging scumbag.

A lot of people are found dead with those stuck in them so you're lucky to be alive and it's great to see someone admit they have a problem and try to fix it.

If only you knew just how aware of this I was. This is another reason Dragon Ball has had such an impact on me. It's nice to see something so generally happy after spending years in hell, seeing some of the things I've seen.

Nice story. Things were getting rough there... good to hear things are working out for the better now!

Dragon Ball has definitely helped me cope in life, as well. It's been the one constant in my life for the past 17 years, honestly. I haven't quite had the struggles you have, but I've had my fair share and Dragon Ball has been a constant escapism. It's actually a big part of my life on a genuine level.

I'm sorry you had to go through all that.

Dragon Ball has helped me cope in the past, too. It all started in 9th grade when I was unhappy because my marks weren't good and I didn't have many friends. Most of my friends had left me for "cooler" people, and only a few remained. Two of those were not good friends, to say the least, and I now have been able to avoid them. As the year progressed, my life got worse, and one day I thought I should start watching an anime. I picked Dragon Ball because I thought it was universally liked (whoops) and after watching the entire Pilaf saga in a weekend, I was hooked. From then until the end of grade 9, I would have a terrible day at school, but I always knew I could come home and watch Dragon Ball. That gave me joy and helped me through the time. And it's stuck with me ever since I got to high school and my life improved drastically.

Touching post man, I truly wish the best for you as things continue. I see these stories from time to time (not here, but in general) and I must say they really open the door for self-reflection. My home life was hardly perfect, but I am so damn lucky to be where I'm at today. I thank you for reminding me of that, and again, good luck with your family. Exciting times await!

Man that was a great post!I can relate in some ways since DB always helped me get through many of my problems.I really hope you continue improving your life in every possible way  .And one little advice to you & everyone who has/had it rough:Enjoy your life.Yeah it sounds generic but simplicity is the key to happiness.I had to learn this the hard way but now I feel better than ever.Believe in yourself & always care about your loved ones.Don't wanna turn this into a cheesy post so I will leave it here :D Take care everyone!

"Enjoy life" is really the best advice. I've had so many wake up calls in my life, where I told myself "never again will I take life and freedom for granted", but I always did. It wasn't until my second child did I learn to shed some of my selfish ways. I used to wake up dopesick or hungover and wanted nothing to do with my kids, but now I look foward to nothing more than cuddling up with my girls and watching some Dragon Ball :)

But really, enjoy life everyone. I've overdosed 5 times that I can remember, and I was lucky enough to get hit with an antidote in time. I'm incredibly lucky to be alive, and I have more than a handful of friends that didn't make it...
