I don't remember anything suggesting that, I'm pretty sure it's unsubstantiated headcanon. In reality, Goku Black improved through his Zenkai. The gr wrote:So is it stated that goku black was holding back during his first confrontation against Vegeta for a sweet zenkai because i Don't remember a line like that in chapter 20

I find it arrogant and obnoxious how they say the manga is absolutely better. /jk
It's well-put together, and I almost shudder to think how much time was put into it, but I do disagree on certain points. Just to use one, I'd say Frost worked better in the anime where he actually had a real reason to use his trick on Piccolo who was gaining the upper hand versus in the manga where he did it because he wanted to end battles quickly?
On the subject of Goku's stupidity, I wouldn't say the first two points are out of character, but I'd agree on the latter two.
7 I wouldn't really consider a plot hole, but more of a weird time loop and think it works better in the story for them to have met even for a bit before meeting again in the future.
Might do more, but that's all I want to spend time on now. Like I said though, it makes decent arguments and is well-put together. Just to add in things I agree. I did like the use of Kibito, and that the manga's likely more accurate to what Toriyama was imagining. Some points.....are almost certainly going to be the same like F!Trunks getting the win. I doubt that's something Toei did on their own, but I could be surprised.

The anime's time loop is unarguably a plot hole since Goku Black cannot logically create the circumstances by which he comes into existence. However, I think there's an argument to be made that the chemistry it built made the whole thing worthwhile, although that certainly isn't my opinion.Hirovoid wrote:7 I wouldn't really consider a plot hole, but more of a weird time loop and think it works better in the story for them to have met even for a bit before meeting again in the future.

I've just seen the type of plot before where someone from the future goes back and does something that allows the future they came from to logically exist. It may not make sense, but it's not an uncommon thing to see in time-travel plots.Jinzoningen MULE wrote:The anime's time loop is unarguably a plot hole since Goku Black cannot logically create the circumstances by which he comes into existence. It can absolutely work with some plots, but DB's time travel rules are made in such a way where it's logically impossible.Hirovoid wrote:I've just seen the type of plot before where someone from the future goes back and does something that allows the future they came from to logically exist. Just look for a glance, but I kinda disagree with his "Flawed power scaling Ex.1 Zamasu". He said that attaining immortality = attaining greater strenght ; enough to face Saiyan God.mfwlegend3 wrote:Post from /a/ regarding the anime and manga. Thoughts?

It's kinda obvious that Zamasu can fight Goku equally because he's the future Zamasu. Goku even said that Zamasu has potential to become as strong as Beerus.

Agreed completely. I think it's as simple as: Toyotaro gets it, Toei doesn't.mfwlegend3 wrote:Post from /a/ regarding the anime and manga. Thoughts?

I'd go a step further. I think that Toei's staff gets it just fine (how couldn't they, these plots are very simple), but choose not to care cause reasons. Moreover, they assume the audience is too stupid to know the difference, which some might be insulted by.TekTheNinja wrote:Agreed completely. Very true to say that it feels like they think their audience is to stupid to notice. I'd also say they're sadly half right though since some people legitimately can't seem to tell the difference.Jinzoningen MULE wrote:I'd go a step further. A good analysis overall. Both adaptations have their cons and pros and in the end it's to you to decide what you prefer.mfwlegend3 wrote:Post from /a/ regarding the anime and manga. Thoughts?

Anxious to see how Toyotaro will handle this fight. Yes, I'm sure Vegetto will appear in the manga and that it was in Toriyama's outline.

I'm actually more interested in seeing the counter arguments/production to this. I looks like someone actually took the time to investigate and provide evidence to their arguments. I will say they also projected and read into statements and quotes a little too much for my liking. But as everyone else has stated, everyone will have their preference.
Re: "Dragon Ball Super (Manga)" Official Discussion Thread
I haven't read that entire photo but I disagree with Goku fighting Zamasu as a bad thing, it adds to Zamasu's character and it makes sense with the investigative angle they were going for early in the arc. The other stuff is pretty indefensible, though.
When someone tells you, "Don't present your opinion as fact," what they're actually saying is, "Don't present your opinion with any conviction. Because I don't like your opinion, and I want to be able to dismiss it as easily as possible." Don't fall for it.
