You really are optimistic, It is good that we have someone like you around here, but seriously, there aren't any real proofs that show how this is improving, the only proofs we have here is that 2 SD are leaving without a reason specified, something that happened before and we reached to the conclusion that it was because of bad scheduling, and it made sense, the same situation is happening here and now two new SD arrived, what makes you think that they aren't going to leave in the future? Or what makes you think that these two will make everything better when the last SD wasn't able to do it after Chioka left? You are only assuming and hoping that it will be better this time just because we had 10 episodes of filler and the supervisors didn't do a lot of work in them.
Remember this is a BIG arc, with more than 120 new characters and every episode has to be 100% action, and Super isn't ready for this, we will have something like U6 tournament if nothing collapses before the arc ends, this is really big.
Super can barely do 2 full action episodes in a row, and after that we get episodes with horrible art or almost any animation.
I don't take this as a fact and assume this arc will be the end of Super, but we have to be ready for anything.
For this arc, I hope for the best, but I'm prepared for the worst.
If I'm wrong, I will be the first to admit it, but I don't think that will happen, not with Super's problems.
Again, it's a false equivalence to compare this situation to Morio taking over for Chioka, in that situation they were credited together for awhile before Morio became the sole director. In this case we had Kohei be credited alongside Morio, but just as I expected his promotion was temporary to lead the filler. I had assumed that it was so Morio could focus on the next arc, but instead it seems it was so Nagamine and Nakamura could focus on the next arc. Nagamine's last anime episode he worked on released in November, which means he could have potentially begun his preliminary work for Super as early as late August, we don't know when he was actually brought on but it could have been potentially earlier than Morio ever could have started work on the next arc, so this new director switch could be for the explicit purpose of improving things.
It also isn't just because we had 10 weeks of filler and some of the supervisors' work was lighter than usual, the episodes were very conservative, there was a lot of outsourcing going on and the non-studio outsourced stuff was mainly Super's core staff and then on top of all of that we had Tomioka not write any of the first 8 episodes of the filler and of course Kohei's temporary promotion. I also doubt Kohei is actually leaving, he'll probably just return to his normal role as it's very clear his time as series director was for a specific purpose and not for him to take over completely.
This situation and the past 10 weeks have been so different from anything in Super's history that you can not use Super's past to make assumptions about what's going on.
I am optimistic about this arc, but don't confuse that for me saying that this arc will definitely be a large improvement over the last one, I don't think anyone should be jumping to any conclusions right now because this situation is very different and could mean many different things, good and bad, we just need to wait, probably a few weeks even, to see how things play out. If there is an improvement to the production we might not even see it until the tournament starts, depending on how they planned things out.
