The opening is really focused on Goku's fight with that red guy so I'm wondering, is he the arc's main villain or is the opening video going to change to suit the main fight that's going on at the time ?

Just by looking at him, he's got the same serious edgy look that Hit has plus he's the one fighting Goku the most in the OP.

Oh! Hit is in the Op. He is there for like half a second on one of the shots of all the new characters. It's his big head in the bottom right. At least I'm pretty sure it is.

Maybe this is ssb kaioken or super Saiyan God red or a new transformation and is sad that hit is going to get demoted which I'm hoping that's not the case

I checked and he is, he's on the corner of one of the panels, part of his head and an eye.

I just think that showing the main villain this early is a sign that it might not be as long as I thought it was going to be.

I was thinking of 30-40 episodes with the main villain being unknown until the middle of the arc.

I don't know why you're setting expectations for length yet, anyway. Wait until the arc actually gets rolling, this introductory episode doesn't count.
