"Dragon Ball Super" Series Official Announcement & Discussion Thread
Re: "Dragon Ball Super" Official Announcement & Discussion Thread
July 9th 2018 will be remembered as the day Broly became canon.
Re: "Dragon Ball Super" Official Announcement & Discussion Thread
No one is going to actually call Goku out on it most likely. No one on u7 team but Gohan, and Krillin have the moral ground to do it. Gohan definitely won't. He didn't even call his father out when he almost got him killed against cell. I doubt Krillin would either.

Yeah, I wouldn't expect any "Calling out" to happen. Beerus might say something. The others might feel a little taken aback. But that's about it. I don't think we're going to get any big dramatic scene of Goku on trial.
Too much punching to be done.

Thats too much, Dragon Ball is as simple as it is, I doubt anyone would blame Goku for the matter in universe as well, unlike us fans they're actually characters in the story, to them this is all Zeno's fault, all Goku did was remind Zeno of the tournament, its not like Goku's the one doing the destroying.
Re: "Dragon Ball Super" Official Announcement & Discussion Thread
You've oversimplifying it. The scene where Beerus threatens to destroy Goku wasn't placed in the episode for no reason. Goku is getting some character in development in regards to his reckless and naive nature for sure.SansrivaaL wrote:Thats too much, Dragon Ball is as simple as it is, I doubt anyone would blame Goku for the matter in universe as well, unlike us fans they're actually characters in the story, to them this is all Zeno's fault, all Goku did was remind Zeno of the tournament, its not like Goku's the one doing the destroying.

sadly piccolo vs frost accomplished nothing in both versions that match is just there to to make Vegeta look cool and I have a weird feeling that piccolo is going to get jobbed in this arc.i think the reason why frost poisoned piccolo in the manga is because he couldn't defeat him and his stamina was droppingDraconic wrote:To add to this, everytime Piccolo lost in Z it was a big deal because he was always the strongest guy at that given time: in the Saiyan arc, he was stronger than all the Earthlings, so seeing Nappa make short work of him built the the Saiyans up; in the Namek arc, after fusing with Nail he was stronger than what even Goku was prior to his injuries, so seeing Freeza trash him in his pre-final form showed the desperate struggle they were in; in the Android arc, after fusing with Kami he was stronger than any good guy and no one knew what the ROSAT would do, so seeing him get defeated by Cell easily in his Imperfect form only built up his Perfect form and solidified him as the main villain, since he was also stronger than the Androids.pacz360 wrote: I see no enjoyment of piccolo jobbing cause at this point he ain't shit to guys goku, vegeta, gohan etc, plus it not even an accomplishment to beat him as before.
In Super him losing wasn't a big deal. The big deal was showing that he can put up a decent fight and almost pull a win against a guy no one gave him a chance. He showed that he was reliable even if weaker than his other teammates. Hell, he was in control of the whole match and if Frost hadn't cheated he wouldn't even be as burnt out at the end, since he not only got poisoned but also had a hole blown trough him which he had to regenerate. That's a big chuck of Ki he lost right there.
Sure, in the manga he just outright jobs and Frost only poisons him because reasons, but the fact that Frost relies on cheating to beat him in both versions shows that Toriyama at least thought of him as a decent capable warrior. I wouldn't write him off just yet.
Also, I wouldn't write Buu off either. If the retcon theory is correct and Toriyama is writing the non-God forms at a Buu-BoG level, outside of Hit, no one in Universe 6 is even close to the guy, so that might be the reason he was taken out of the tournament without fighting at all.
Mostly active on discord.

Giving that Goku got a lot stronger to the point he didn't need the Kaioken against Hit and even told him his Time-Skip won't work, why would Goku's base form only be around the Buu Saga even if they decided to gimped his base form with no explanation given.Draconic wrote:To add to this, everytime Piccolo lost in Z it was a big deal because he was always the strongest guy at that given time: in the Saiyan arc, he was stronger than all the Earthlings, so seeing Nappa make short work of him built the the Saiyans up; in the Namek arc, after fusing with Nail he was stronger than what even Goku was prior to his injuries, so seeing Freeza trash him in his pre-final form showed the desperate struggle they were in; in the Android arc, after fusing with Kami he was stronger than any good guy and no one knew what the ROSAT would do, so seeing him get defeated by Cell easily in his Imperfect form only built up his Perfect form and solidified him as the main villain, since he was also stronger than the Androids.pacz360 wrote: I see no enjoyment of piccolo jobbing cause at this point he ain't shit to guys goku, vegeta, gohan etc, plus it not even an accomplishment to beat him as before.

It made sense for Gohan to not call Goku out there. Gohan willingly put his life in danger before and after that. .Beyond wrote:No one is going to actually call Goku out on it most likely. Well, I'm not saying it's true and I also don't subscribe to the theory myself, but I don't want to make this conversation about strength.HeroR wrote: Giving that Goku got a lot stronger to the point he didn't need the Kaioken against Hit and even told him his Time-Skip won't work, why would Goku's base form only be around the Buu Saga even if they decided to gimped his base form with no explanation given.
Even so, Buu's abilities more than make up for whatever strength gap there might be with the other contesters. He is nearly invincible, immune to poison, can absorb people or turn them into candy. I really can't see him losing either against Frost, Botamo, Cabba or Magetta. Hit would destroy him easily, but he is the outlier of the team and whatever 5 other fighters Universe 6 can get I don't think can measure to his level. Not all of them at least. That's why I think he was quickly taken out of the team the first time around since it's pretty hard to make someone like him lose while also not looking like a fool.
I don't think he will be very important, but I also don't think he will have a bad showing. He'll probably be eliminated by someone strong, but below Gohan. He surely won't lose to someone that Tenshinan or Roshi would defeat.

Buu can be beating by brute force, hence him getting his ass kicked by Evil and Kid Buu. Evil Buu even blew back his candy beam. So most of U6 would stomped him if they challenged base form Goku who was stronger than a train Freeza before training for another four years.Draconic wrote:Well, I'm not saying it's true and I also don't subscribe to the theory myself, but I don't want to make this conversation about strength.HeroR wrote: Giving that Goku got a lot stronger to the point he didn't need the Kaioken against Hit and even told him his Time-Skip won't work, why would Goku's base form only be around the Buu Saga even if they decided to gimped his base form with no explanation given.

Re: "Dragon Ball Super" Official Announcement & Discussion Thread
He only needed Kaioken to break Hit's time skip, Hit didn't use the time skip in their rematch. Goku broke Hit's pocket dimension, not his time skip.HeroR wrote:

And Goku saying his time skip wouldn't work on him means jack considering he thought he beat it like twice in their first fight and then ended up getting hit with it again.
Re: "Dragon Ball Super" Official Announcement & Discussion Thread
Goku told Hit the Time-Skip was useless and he didn't try to use the Kaioken and Hit never attempted to use it once, even to save himself from Goku's Kamehameha. If Goku was full of it, why didn't Hit used his Time-Skip? In fact, he agreed with Goku that it wouldn't work.ArchedThunder wrote:He only needed Kaioken to break Hit's time skip, Hit didn't use the time skip in their rematch. Hit told him that he wasn't going to use the time skip anyways.HeroR wrote: Goku told Hit the Time-Skip was useless and he didn't try to use the Kaioken and Hit never attempted to use it once, even to save himself from Goku's Kamehameha.
Re: "Dragon Ball Super" Official Announcement & Discussion Thread
Hit agreed it wouldn't work and didn't try to use it to avoid Goku's Kamehameha. If Hit could have simply froze Goku in that moment to avoid impact, why didn't he? He sure in hell used it during the tourument to avoid the Kamehameha.ArchedThunder wrote:Hit told him that he wasn't going to use the time skip anyways.HeroR wrote: Goku told Hit the Time-Skip was useless and he didn't try to use the Kaioken and Hit never attempted to use it once, even to save himself from Goku's Kamehameha.
