I feel like Goku is going to be taken out before the finals. He instigated this situation for his own satisfaction, so it would be interesting to see him denied that and having to deal with the potential ramifications of a bad call that he can't overcome through punching and kicking or the Dragon Balls.

That could be an interesting route to this arc, but I don't they have the guts to do that with the main character

Still, family can fight and argue, it seems really weird that Gohan is just as emotionally stunted in many areas like his dad is but he's supposed to be more intelligent. I know emotional intellect and general intellect can be mutually exclusive, but I feel like he shouldn't be okay with Goku just letting Freeza go which chain reacts into Gohan's wife, daughter, mom, brother and dad-in-law dying. Even with Whis reversing things, in the long term this shouldn't get handwaved away.

Goku had won the fight at this point and then had a dirty tricked used on him, yeah its Gokus fault for letting his guard down, but in the end its not like Goku sat there and let Freeza blow up earth on purpose, besides it was undone and Goku did Kill freeza.

Freeza blowing up the Earth was more Vegeta's fault since he had Freeza at his mercy and took too long to kill him.

It would be interesting, but agreed. He's probably going to have a fight the major adversary at some point whoever it is. He's literally fought every major opponent since like forever (win or lose).

He will just do what he did during the Cell Games. Sit back and cheer his team. He was even willing to let Cell crushed Gohan to death until Piccolo chewed him out for it. In fact, that's what he did when he 'lost' to Frost.

I can see how some people are thinking it might be a red herring, but at the same time, I don't think this Swole alien dude would have so much screen time and (most likely) be the Hooded Man standing with his God of Destruction if he didn't hold some significance in the saga. I don't know about him being the climactic fight of the saga (he could very well be, but I'd still say it's too early to call), but it's pretty obvious that he is a character to watch out for, and that he'll fight Goku at some point.

That's why Vegeta will probably never get the "Boss" kill because he takes too long to gloat and punish, Goku tries to let everybody live even though he knows somebody like Freeza has no good in them. You'd think they'd let the more ruthless one do the killing but honestly I don't think Goku really thinks of killing bad guy's as killing but more of winning a battle or defeating.

If we see all other fighters apart from him from the trailer, then that would make the covered guy the alien guy. So it is not really hiding him.

I'm just saying if this scenario happens then how the fandom will react

is highly unlikely that these 8 fighters will get jobbed since they have been in poster, in the op and heck they got their own eyecatchers

In that case expect a LOT of anger and people saying they'll never watch Super again. Although they'll be back for the next live stream.

I can tolerate Tien and Roshi jobbing, but if even Gohan and 17 amount to nothing, I'm done.

They won't disappoint though, every decision made after the black arc has been incredible so far. It's in good hands !

The team aspect is being promoted way too much in many different form for the other 8 to do nothing. If they could actually tell us the format of the tournament then we could have a better guess at how useful each member of the team will be.

Yeah, I guess whoever inserted the image didn't realize the fans would connect the bald headed fighter with the mysterious cloak figure, hence why I think they were worried of potential spoilers.

I'm curious on how the fandom will react when the 8 fighters of U7 jobbed and they pull a Goku and Vegeta show.What will be your reaction when this happens

Thats the same thing they said in the Black Arc, and they jobbed as much as Trunks to Black.

Though I expect not all of them have a good performance.

What I expect good to great performance: 17, Krillin, and maybe Gohan.

Decent performance: Tenshinhan, Roshi, 18.

Embarrassing peformance: Buu, Piccolo.

Sorry if I repeat this again but Piccolo is gonna be used as comedy relief again, he has been like that ever since the end of the Cell Saga when he didnt understand what love was.

Maybe, but I could easily see it being the big fight. Wouldn't be the first time an anime pretty much showed what would be the climactic battle.

...I did not know how much I wanted this, but yes! Either it'll be a joke of how Piccolo is confused on what the alien is trying to do, or it'll raise some interestingly stupid questions for the fanbase to argue about. DO IT, TOEI!
