I thought someone like you would reply to me with a comment which makes no sense when Goku knows he needs 10 and will have to use them at some point. Also, what about Vegeta? He has no excuse not to fight and would be worse than Gohan with his excuses knowing that the consequences of Universe 7 losing this match.

Vegeta and Piccolo probably then have a good chance of fighting in the next match.

Goku only needs two at the moment, not ten, and Vegeta is most likely still waiting for Bra to be born. Piccolo is weaker than Gohan and Buu, so why would Goku chose him over them.

A bunch of wolves as strong as Goku, Gohan and Majin Buu? I really hope Goku only toys around with them and Gohan and Buu get good wins, because this is insulting.

All the new characters from other universes have no history. They will be as strong as the plot needs them to be.

Nice catch! I was aware that Basil is a herb and just realized about Lavender, but haven't heard of Bergamot.

I like how all of the characters (except Polunga, Popo, etc.) are basically puns. Yet another thing I like about Toriyama

I dunno. Maybe they went to Namek ? Or Piccolo is still teaching Dende, he used to be Earth's Kami for thousands of years.

Piccolo is probably in the mountains training like we were shown and maybe they can't find him.

Goku can sense ki and it probably didn't want him because he's a weakling compared to Gohan and Buu. Goku barely wanted Piccolo the first time.

That's not true. He did want Piccolo because he had no idea Gohan was back to training. When he realized Gohan was training with Piccolo, he tried to replace Piccolo for Gohan.

Vegeta will have no Bra if they don't win. Vegeta is not someone who would put all his trust in others. Especially Buu who he basically called stupid based on the last tournament and Gohan who does not fight. The only way this would make sense is if Goku never tells Vegeta. Regarding Piccolo, I just hope that him 'being on business' means he has been training.

But these are a bunch of flea-ridden wolves. They look like the kind of characters in the tournaments back in Dragonball, the one who Yamcha beat in particular in the preliminaries.

These disgusting wolves being on par with Buu and two godly Saiyans just doesn't feel right. Hopefully the scene of Goku beating the crap out of the wolf in the opening is how the match goes. Disgusting furry animals.

There's a fourth wolf/canine in the opening that isn't participating in this match.



So I guess whether their universe gets destroyed after the exhibition match or not, they will still participate in the Tournament of Power. Then again, he could be from their twin universe, U4. I wonder if the Universe 9 God of Destruction is the clown or the fox... the fox would fit the canine theme, but that seems too easy.

If you’re referring to the fighters showcased in the opening, they are most likely the participants of the other universes in the actual tournament of power, so we probably won’t see them until the real tournament starts. No word as to when or what episode the actual tournament starts, so far.

Before the actual tournament begins, future Zen-chan wants to see Goku and co. fight first, so he holds a preliminary. Universe 7 battles against Universe 9, and Goku, Gohan, and Boo are the fighters of Universe 7, while the three wolf guys — Basil, Lavenda, and Bergamo — are the fighters of Universe 9.

I am updating the predictions and results thread with all the battles and the universes where they are from.

Buu better not turn him Basil into chocolate and get disqualified so all we see is Saiayans which is bad.

If it's universes on the line pretty sure killing is allowed, if not goku will have it allowed to he can fight everyone at full potential..
Buu should turn him into chocolate, power increase guaranteed and no shape change either..
Also namekiansaiyan, gohan is chosen first and buu second, the complete opposite your predictions
It's still odd piccolo isn't even considered worth asking though.. Goku could find his ki anytime he liked so it's also not that he is hidden away..

For my thoughts,

Pretty sure it's gonna be buu's win, he is laughing when "the odds are against him" which means he is getting thrown around like vs majin vegeta and he is actually not even in any form of danger, it just looks like he is..
Buu kills the opponent and eats him..

Gohan is joining nearly the next day he is asked by goku, he is going to lose, get beaten really badly just because we can't have 3 straight wins of uni 7 and goku is sure to win against his opponent going from the op..

But this would confirm gohan re attaining his power by training for the next one, maybe it's planned to give him a huge power boost and they don't want it to be a total asspull like trunks this time..

It's really obvious they are making Buu and Gohan fight because everything that happened in the U6 arc with them, pretty sure this is a Toei thing and no universe will be wiped out yet.

Gohan and buu are fighting in survival arc already, there's no need to make up for their absence by adding filler tournament

If you want the non-saiyans to have a better chance of doing well, you don't want killing to be allowed.

Also technically Gohan and Buu got chosen before both Vegeta and Piccolo. Toriyama is not going to put the dream team of Goku, Vegeta and Piccolo together in a preliminary round. That will be saved for the most important parts of the tournament.

I wouldn't be surprised if Gohan and Buu both lose but goku wins. Piccolo will then beat Gohan's nerdy arse into shape.

Overall, we don't know if Goku tells everyone about the tournament or he just picks 2 just for now.
