Because this filler arc has made me hopeful we will finally have more blood seeing the Yamcha episode and also it looks like last episode had blood in the remade Great Saiyaman and Videl flashback from DBZ (though that could have been made to be faithful to the original scene)
It's probably a decision by the current series director, Kōhei Hatano. He serves as the series director in these filler episodes, and we got to see considerable amount of blood, particularly in episode #70. Not to mention except for episode #54, Kōhei served as the episode director in the previous episodes where blood was present (#38 and #56).
Kohei Hatano is the hero I didn't know I needed.
I really hope he stays around

The Fuji TV has final say on what airs in terms of violence. It's up to the Toei producer to decide if an alternate and more violent version is made for home video.

Tomioka is fast as hell. I think he's going to provide scripts for the majority of this arc as well. As for the staff, #79 is the one to look forward to. Tate and Ono would be interesting to see and Karasawa Kazuya is the storyboard artist, so it'll be good.

If Tomioka's work the on the Future Trunks Saga is any indication, we will be getting some good stuff.

Goku barely took a backseat in the Buu saga, at best he took a leisurely stroll round back while everyone else cried for him to come back.

Tomioka's work on Pocket Monster has shown that he is incredibly dedicated to a series when he becomes the series composer. While he isn't officially credited here I think it's pretty obvious that he's the one that Nagamine relies on most to get scripts finished.

I'm probably the only one who misses having multiple script writers, but geez do I miss having multiple script writers. I liked discerning their individual styles the way others do with animators. I miss King Ryû so much. I even miss Fukushima to an extent. Props to Tomioka for being able to take on as much as he has, I just miss the variety of people.

Having different writers is cool for one-offs episodes. Not for a multi-story arc since it's easier to stay constant with just one writer. That is what often gets Marvel and DC in trouble with some of their comics.

I said I was in the minority. ^^;
Consistency isn't that big a plus for me if it's my third favorite dbs writer instead of my first or second.
I do get what you're saying, I'm just a much bigger fan of King Ryû than I am of Tomioka. It's a flavor thing, I think. I just like Ryû's characterizations more.

How the hell does Tomioka write for Super and Pokemon at the same time?

Ironically, I really like Tomioka's Pokémon Sun and Moon stuff (can't speak for earlier; watched dubbed Kanto, Orange Islands, and the beginning of Johto as a kid, didn't see anything else until Sun and Moon) but I'm just not fully on board with him getting to do 90% of Super's writing as of late.
I think my bigger problem is I loved getting all that Gokû and Vegeta interaction early on in Super and seeing them drift apart even though I know they have to because EoZ it just breaks my heart. It doesn't help that I'm not interested in Bra or VegeBul. Vegeta is less interesting without Gokû and Gokû is more hazardous without Vegeta.
On hiatus.

Tomioka wrote the best episodes of pokemon from the Hoenn, DP and XY era's, and makes the show more action oriented with better character development and battles. I'm just surprised he's doing Super nowadays, especially since he's still working on Pokemon at the same time.

Go watch his episodes of
Diamond & Pearl and
XY in Japanese. They're the best episodes of those series and contain great rivalries, character interactions and battles.

Yeah, Diamond and Pearl was when Pocket Monsters started to evolve for good. But, Tomioka isn't the only one I'd give all credit to. Asada Yuuji(SB/ED) and Iwane Masa'aki(animator) started doing wonders as well.
I also thought Matsumoto's Satoshi performance was at her peak. Not that she wasn't great before, but I enjoyed it more. It's cause Satoshi in Diamond and Pearl was interesting.

Not what I expected, I hope Yuichi Karasawa isn't gone... that would be a huge blow to the series. Maybe he's on the first episode of the tournament proper.
I wonder if we're getting two Wanpack episodes in a row or if Ono is doing an episode separate from Wanpack. I wonder if episode 80 is why Manabe didn't provide animation for 75.

I would not be surprised if Karasawa left. He and Higashide came with Hatano Morio.Hopefully not though.
