I'm loving the "Trio Of Danger" designs. This instantly came to my mind when I fist saw them.

It's interesting to see that Goku, Gohan and Majin will be up first. But let's be real... one of them is gonna job out hard. And it sure as hell ain't gonna be Goku.

And to be blunt, that has been the humans' role since the beginning of Dragon Ball. They exists to keep Goku from wasting stamina or to keep the villains from doing more damaged before Goku arrives.

Even if we agree for a second thats true , now they aren't even capable or interested in doing that, nor does goku need it..
They level of opponents they could beat is something goku can't waste stamina on..
It's not that hard to see others are of no use whatsoever anymore without a boost yet they can't be bothered to be given one..

I happen to like my Dragonball with everyone closer in power enough to help out even if goku takes the main stage and that's not something I alone feel either..
This really isn't something that is debatable anymore, We can't reach a conclusion like this.. let's not continue it further

That is because there are far more characters like Beerus, Whis, Jaco, ect. The human cast got left in the dust for the most part and this tournament may frankly be their last hurrah.

Dragon Ball characters haven't been even in power since the King Piccolo Saga and the gap only got wider.

And guess what ? The Top 3 are the most relevant and the strongest of the heroes. Even Future Trunks has huge focus in the arc he was in. Saying it has no factor is pretty ridiculous.

Gohan was relevant during the Buu Saga to the point of being the main character and he didn't break the top 5. Piccolo's role got reduced, didn't even fight, and he was still in the top 5. Vegeta was dead for most of the Buu Saga and he was number 2.

Who cares about Vegeta and Piccolo's roles during the Boo saga ? Overall they are relevant and strong characters. The fans aren't going to suddenly forget about their roles in the cell saga and before just because of that. Plus, some of Vegeta's best moments were in the Boo saga. The only weird one in this situation is Gohan. You can't just say it has absolutely no factor when the most popular characters tend to be more relevant and stronger. Just because there are some outliers doesn't mean anything.

future trunks is the fourth most popular character in a lot of polls and he was only there for one arc and barely did much in it.

Hmmm...maybe. Also since human "fangs" are not that impressive and cool sounding Rōgafūfūken belongs to Yamcha.....Bergamo must be super strong!

Having said that, I also think there is going to be a correlation about patterns, so until we see all the patterns, we won't know for sure.

Not-Cleopatra vs Not-Aztec [two similar real-life cultures thousands of years old, both build pyramids and other intricate structures]

I think I've figured out the correlation between the God's of destruction, based on logic alone.

Because those "flea-ridden mutts" are three of the strongest beings in their universe. While Yamcha is apparently is so low on the radar that Master Roshi was picked over him.

However if memory serves Yamcha did beat up a wolf guy in a filler episode of one of the old Budokai preliminaries. Wolf-kind would have finally got its bloody revenge on him if he was picked to fight.
