Should Toriyama have introduced SSJ?

I don't think Toriyama meant to leave Piccolo and the humans in the dust with OP Saiyajin transformations. The humans being outclassed was a logical side effect but may not have been considered.

Toriyama makes random boosts to power to prop characters up so I really don't think his exclusion of non-Saiyan's has anything to do with "internal power consistency" concerns. I think he just realized that most of his cast has nothing left to do at one point or another.

Even Piccolo who he artificially has stay "relevant" power wise doesn't do anything after he dies to save Gohan. He, like Yamcha and Tien and Chiaotzu could have very easily stayed dead and you'd lose nothing with it.
When someone tells you, "Don't present your opinion as fact," what they're actually saying is, "Don't present your opinion with any conviction. Because I don't like your opinion, and I want to be able to dismiss it as easily as possible." Don't fall for it.
