If Gohan really lose to a bunch of fleabag mutts I'll already lose all hope in this arc. A bunch of mangy flea-ridden mutts who look like they belong back in the pet shop taking down Gohan would be a slap in the face to fans. Someone needs to put these dogs down and back in the kennel where they belong.

You'll lose hope in a saga because of the possibility of Gohan losing to a character who has a design you don't like?

Most of the team will have victory and loss, I really don't see the problem with Gohan losing this match.

To me Wolf with the scarf look better than the grey alien that is probably the or one of the strongest in the tournament.

Hmmm I was wondering if Beerus and Champa come form the same universe as the other cat man...I wonder how they will act around their universes god of destruction?

If he's old enough they must lived in fear of him until their ascension and possibly even till this day if he's stronger then them.

Dear god. Poor Beerus already has the potential death of his brother hanging over him, he doesn't need more family members dyeing because of Goku.

But I personally dont think that is the case, Beerus and Champa are so old that multiple generations kaioshin have come and gone during their time as GoD. At this point everyone they ever knew should be dead by now. I bet they'll be shocked to discover that some of their race are even still around.

True, Hit's over a 1000 years old and Frieza's race might be long lived. Buu's been around since forever to. However I would find it odd (but acceptable) that their is a race out there with lifespans that rival or out right surpass that of kaioshins.

Super can work with EOZ without any string-tying. There's the "we haven't seen you in 5 years" stuff but we can chalk it up to being an error on Bulma's part. Gohan goes back to being a scholar, Mai and friends don't have to appear at the tourney, or better yet, they can be written out. If they do the "Vegeta becomes God of Destruction" thing they can just have him still reside on Earth part-time. Beerus only had to do his job every hundred years or so. 17 can be off living his life.

There's no going back. Even if Gohan fights, he is a scholar. No changing that. He can do both at the same time you know.

We have seen wolves/foxes act as regular earthlings back in Dragonball. The mayor was a dog too, many forget this.

These new wolfs look awesome and dangerus while the old ones really did look like mutts.

There's a lot of things at work here on the show these days. Without a Toriyama comment on the new arc we can't say for sure, but Gohan's obviously been brought back as a relevant character to the story now. I wouldn't be surprised if Toei themselves were pushing for it considering his popularity either - similar to how Toriyama brought back Future Trunks due to a suggestion from the editorial staff.

Assumption. Toriyama never said what the suggesting was. It could have been 'evil Goku' as far as you know.

You know I really don't know who deserves to shine most in this tournament. Everyone here besides Goku and Vegeta need some form of redemption but it's nearly impossible for them all to get their chance here.

I'm with you, I want everyone to have a good fight, not just the main caste but also the new fighters. Everyone deserves to get a good showing. I don't mind to much who wins and looses as long as the fights are good with as little jobbing as possible.
