Discussion regarding the entirety of the franchise in a general (meta) sense, including such aspects as: production, trends, merchandise, fan culture, and more.

Who? And what?!
Mistare Fusion doesn't care about power level debates. He's weird like that
Well, except for F the movie which even he couldn't ignore xD
When someone tells you, "Don't present your opinion as fact," what they're actually saying is, "Don't present your opinion with any conviction. Because I don't like your opinion, and I want to be able to dismiss it as easily as possible." Don't fall for it.
How the Black Arc Should End (by Lightbing!):
Spoiler:
Absolute Zamasu(my name for their fusion) wins. He fulfils his utopia and dwells in his loneliness(x amount of time for this to happen). He starts to doubt of his achievements, Goku's body influences him to seek out challenges but there's nothing. Perfection becomes a curse. Absolute Zamasu starts to dread his existence and presents himself to the Omni-King, detailing on his actions.
Using his powers the Omni-King restores everything to the moment before Goku and Vegeta perish, humanity's last barrier. Zamasu concedes. He ask for forgiveness(mainly to Goku, Gowasu and Trunks) and understands that his justice isn't justice at all. He asks for judgement and the Omni-King delivers.
Trunks is forced never to travel in time ever again, all the time-machines are destroyed.

I think I read your comment wrong... Taking away my 'What!?' exclimation...
When Super apparently shoves Goku down our throats:
Spoiler:
HeroR wrote:The characters in Super can work with Goku and they're treated like equals to him. Goku just being in the room doesn't take away from the character. In Z, the characters were so depended on Goku that they couldn't go an episode without mentioning him in some way even by hoping he will arrived, get better, training to get stronger, our last hope, being like him, ect. Goku was wanked to hell in Z, even when he wasn't in the room and everyone else was secondary to him. In fact, this was a major issue Goku had, which is why he didn't want to do anything in the Buu Saga.

Gaffer Tape, you know, a user on this board.
Should I recognise everyone's user name?

Yeah... me neither. Also, TFS is overrated, and their popularity is almost entirely a consequence of their timing. Not that I dislike the guys or anything, I just don't think they're talented.

I love a lot of what they've done but I don't think the fanbase has taken their skills too far. Like how they want them to redub the entire series using this cast. As in, an actual, straight-faced dub of everything. C'mon.

Wow? Do people really think that? Do people not realize that this is a small team? How great the undertaking if of making a fucking dub of Dragon ball? Also if they actually did a re-dub then that would literally give them no time to do their main, popular product. Think it's called Dragon Ball Z abridged

I think it's stupid that people may think that way, we have great profissionals in FUNImation that would debunk their work, even though they're some great voice acting in TFS, but in the end it's just a parody.
I read people saying that DBZA is DBZ with better writing and I don't know what to think about it lol
Are we too old to enjoy new Dragon Ball movies/series?

Guys, I'm going to be straight with you. If you feel the show has gotten 'silly' ... it hasn't. You're just 'too old for this shit'. Seriously, 95% of the people in those boards do not fit the target demographic of the show, so don't expect the show to be 'everything you hoped for'. I'm referring to the people here who expect Super to be rich with dark moments, serious storytelling, meaningful characters etc etc. It won't. It's a show for kids. A show for kids being kids. Everyone in those boards has a manchild in him/her, clamoring to get out, and that's fine. But having unrealistic expectations (such as believing the show grew up alongside you) is naïve at best. Honestly, do you take seriously a story where the supposed God of Destruction halts his urges to blow up stuff in order to eat ice cream sundae? That's the show's silliness at full force, take it for what it is. The show hasn't matured one bit, so don't expect it too. Again, I'm not saying that's a bad thing. I'm saying *that* is DB and always will be.

The Freeza arc and the Saiyan arc from the original are superior to the abridged versions. But the abridged version of the Cell arc is literal light years ahead of what it was in the Dragon Ball Z

I mean, I don't feel like it'd be a gigantic problem to watch Dragon Ball in 16:9, because it doesn't seem very heavy on utilizing the 4:3 ratio, at least as much as other shows. It's been a while since I've watched DBZ (in 16:9, specifically), not counting The Final Chapters, but I don't recall an absurd amount of awkward-looking shots.
Anime Kitten wrote:I mean, I don't feel like it'd be a gigantic problem to watch Dragon Ball in 16:9
Exactly, it's really not even a big deal. With Kai, it wasn't a problem at all, since they framed it well. I'd even go so far as to say that I'm an advocate for Kai's method of cropping. Either way, it's irrelevant. Funimation's releases are bad because the picture itself is bad, not because of the cropping. Boo Kai isn't bad because it's 16:9, it's bad because someone spilled lime juice on the film reel.

So many people think the new saga is going to be the most ginormous turbo super duper ultra thing to ever exist in Dragon Ball. I really don't. Not in the slightest. I think there might be some cool things and I hope so certainly but especially with the thought of many that this might be the last saga for Super I think, as long as nothing too spectacular happens, this tournament is not the best for a final saga of Super.
I know, I have to wait and see.

Sometimes I wish power levels never existed. They cause so much tension between users and debates that stereotype our fan base as being annoying, and seem to piss people off way more than help them out. Also, everyone here seems to know all of them and I frankly don't care whose power level is what. If there have to be "Who's the strongest/who's stronger" debates (which seem unavoidable regardless in this fandom), I'd rather we used examples of actual stuff from the manga and anime to justify our opinions.
